Thought this product was going to take an age to set up and be difficult but the instructions were easy to follow and it was a quick and easy job to set up. Couldn't be happier.

I won the HP 3050a in a christmas draw. I found it to be very light and portable, far better than my Epsom. It was installed very quickly without any problems and I found it to be very easy to use on all functions. The onboard screen menu works extremely well, is very easy to follow. the printing fuction is much better than my old printer, which has been confined to the cupboard. The only critisisum would be the price of new ink cartridges.

I bought the 3050A Printer Scanner Copier to replace a perfectly good HP PSC1215 unit which turned out not to be compatible with Windows 7. The 3050A setup connecting via USB was simple but the wireless function was a struggle (and my experience seems commonplace). I failed completely to get the 3050A unit to connect wirelessly to a HP computer, in spite of following the instructions to the letter. The scanner is rather noisy (squeaky) during operation but the printing and copying seems acceptable, although I have not yet tried photo printing. The printer does not print to the edges, which is annoying (like my previous printer scanner copier).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just the Job

As a home based printer, this model is the business! Easy to set up, small enough to find an out of the way nook to store it and the wireless function works perfectly. You do need to remember to open the paper tray before printing, otherwise it wont print. (it does tell your computer what the problem is though, which is great!) The quality of prints is very good and it is reasonably quick. One slight niggle is that it keeps reporting that the colour cartridge has a problem, but if I switch it off then back on, it works just fine. Over all, i'd say that it was a really good printer for home use. I'm not in a position to say whether it would be suitable in an office environment as I do not work in one.
