Disappointed

I returned my printer to the retailer shortly after I bought it because each time I printed something it came out in a different font to something else I had printed out and some were too small to read.

Great printer copier etc. Brilliant value for money. Wifi capability is so useful. Print from anywhere in the house 'hands free'. AirPrint means can use IPhone iPod and iPad to print. Didn't know what we did before we had this. So easy to use and set up.

I am very pleased with my new HP Printer. I have not printed out a great deal, but what I have has been of good quality and speedy. The copying facility is very good and I like the fact that I can programme the printer without having to switch on my computer.

I have now had this printer for about 6 weeks and have found it to be very good for every day use. It has good colour quality and is quite speedy. Overall I think it is very good value for the cost of the printer

Replacement printer

I purchased the 3050A Deskjet over the Christmas holidays. It was cheap, but it was really just to have an basic device for printing out the odd e-ticket etc.
I’d used it half a dozen times, when the wireless connectivity failed completely. No stranger to printing (I am a professional graphic designer), I tried everything to resolve the matter, but to no avail. Instead, I hooked it directly up to the computer’s USB port. It worked fine for another month or so of infrequent use, until it just started to jam. There was no visible blockage and nothing rattling inside. I contacted support at HP who concluded it was a hardware fault. Rather than fix it, they sent me a brand new printer. On one hand, I was delighted because I get a brand new product. On the other hand, its surely not the most environmental or practical solution to the problem. Also, they stated they would leave instructions with the new product for where to send the old printer for recycling. This did not appear… and still hasn’t. The printer itself is fine. Very basic. Drinks up toner pretty fast for the limited print coverage I’ve demanded of it. The scanning facility is weak. Not to mention the fact that the REPLACEMENT printer has been unable to connect wirelessly since the day it arrived. I’m loath to contact HP in case they send me a 3rd brand new printer, soon to join the recycling queue!!!
In conclusion, I’m impressed at the prompt response from customer services, puzzled at the solution for the broken original, and overall fairly disappointed with the actual printer.
