Heat retention issues mar Classic Bento experience

The multiple compartments and bag itself are well-constructed and easy to keep clean. The dishes may seem small at first, but they hold quite a lot of food. The one thing that I am disappointed in is the heat retention of the dishes. Despite following instructions to heat the inner container, food is barely warm ~3 hours later. Others reported this issue as well. Very disappointing considering how impressive the heat retention of a Zojirushi thermos, for example. Not sure what happened with this specific device, would not buy again for this reason. If food temp doesn't matter to you, this may be a good choice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This set is great. Sometimes I don’t get to have lunch for quite some time due to my occupation. I’ve had my meal after 10 hours, though it’s no longer hot, it was, I guess you can call it like warm, but that’s better than absolutely cold & you have no access to a microwave. Besides, I’m talking 10 hours here, is there a product similar to this that works as well? I doubt it. I followed the packing directions provided and it works well for me. Don’t regret the purchase at all.

My hopes for this lunch jar were high, but my expectations were low. Other products I have used struggle to keep everything warm, or seemed to let food dry out inside them. However, after a few weeks of use I can say the design is top quality. The lids fit perfectly and the lunch inside stays hot and fresh until it's time to eat, even on days when this is unavoidably delayed. I would recommend this item to anyone.
