Totally Non-Intuitive Controls

I had an earlier version of this same GE Profile Microwave and I loved it. When it came time to replace it, I bought GE's current version. What did you guys do to the controls?? This new microwae has THE MOST NON-INTUITIVE touch pad ever created. Something as simple as setting the cook time and power level is impossible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice microwave but don't buy it for the fan.

I have some mixed feelings about this microwave. It heats up a couple cups of water a minute faster than my old microwave. The controls are well laid out and easy to use. The separate buttons at the bottom for the light, fan, and timer are very easy to identify and press. Cleaning is nice. There is no lip on the inside and there are channels that "flow" toward the door which means cleanup by running a sponge through is relatively easy. What I do not like at all is the exhaust fan. It is loud, and yet it has mediocre effectiveness even though this vents to the outdoors. I expected much more for something rated at 400 CFM. I even had a technician check it, and he said it was working as expected. If you are serious about getting the smoke/smells out, consider a dedicated hood fan instead. Finally, I found that when boiling water on the range below, the vapor covered the door of the microwave. You will want some type of 3rd party device that fits underneath to block the vapor. GE might consider manufacturing these.

Cooks fast, vents great

If you are looking for an over the range microwave with a strong fan for external exhaust, this is the one. The fan is awesome, you can see the steam and smoke from cooking on the range get sucked in and leave the house. It is great!

This was a replacement product of similar size and design. No problems with installation or understanding the keypad functions. New unit looks good and works well, thanks for doing a good job.
