I've finally upgraded our old DVD player and got a Sony 1500S. just need to report that It's a beaut little unit and is so easy to set up and use.

rubbish - has region coding which is SO OLD

bought this 7 weeks ago and only now finding out that it is hard coded for region 4 DVD only....was sold to me a 'region free'...you may feel this is not a product issue, but why is there still region coding when people live/move and shop from all over the world???

I purchased this to replace my older, pre-internet blu-ray player. While the blu-ray features are great, other functions could be improved. for example;
1. There is no way to add new applications to the home page, to allow access to ever changing streaming channels, and
2. The remote control has a very loose feel to the switches/toggles. It sometimes takes me several attempts to select the selection on the screen, and then the entre button shifts sideways and I have selected something else. Not insurmountable but slightly annoying.

I bought this produce along with my new Sony OLED. Very happy with my Bluray. I chose this one because it was the highest and expensive, expecting will be the best.
