Good features

The finish is easily scratchable. Even very light cleaning cloths cause fine scratches to appear on surfaces.

New GE Refrigerator

Also did not like stainless steal so i was happy with the black color. We also like the ice cube bin alot of space for extra ice some are now coming with to small of a bin.

middle shelf freezes food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this fridge since end of October 2012 and I bought it because I loved the look inside and out. when I initially got it, I thought that that problem I was having would go away after time but it did not. anything, does not matter what, freezes on the middle shelf against the freezer wall. I had my 3th service call and the last technician that came out, blocked off one of the vents and said that should cure it and in fact, it made it worse. the area he blocked off, ice is forming there which cant be good. the technician on the 2nd call, replaced the "mother board" and it made no difference. now waiting to see what the 4th technician will do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Reliable Line Of Side By Side Refrigeration

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a maintenance supervisor for a major company that manages apartment complexes. The previous two properties that I was in charge of had older versions in this similar line of refrigerator and they were very reliable. Plus, for the most common fixes, it is very easy for a novice to make the repairs.
We upgraded for the sake of space. The holding shelf for cans on the fridge door really took a bite out of the height of the remaining shelves so we removed it all together. Now we can fit tall bottles on any of the other door shelves. Also, the ice maker is a bit bulky for how seldom we use ice. Plus, now with refrigerated filtered water coming from the fridge I find no need to ice my drinking water. However, we just moved our food from our old fridge to this one and the freezer is still about 2/3 empty space.
With two kids in the house I also like the door alarm feature which beeps if the fridge is not closed after a couple of minutes. It beeped at me while I was migrating my food between the fridges, not to soon to be annoying, but soon enough that you are not losing too much cold air.
Overall, I like the appearance of the appliance and I have faith in the reliability from working on this line of refrigerator in the field.

Excellent for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was on a budget and this what we needed good product for a great price some minor issues like the ice sometimes gets stuck and finger prints and water spots on outside very noticeable minor compared to its efficiency for the price. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a good deal.
