Works well, cosmetics aside

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My focus and the reason for this review is the extensive cosmetic issues we've had with this hood. The kitchenaid logo just fell off, and no service company will reinstall. Now there are 4 gaping holes staring you in the face. I will need to replace the entire unit, which seems ridiculous, or get some gorilla glue. Also, it took several tries before we got a blemish free stainless flue. First two deliveries had bends all over them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hood is very difficult to install. The blower is even more of a nightmare. The blower came with out mounting brackets and after hours (yes hours) on the phone I learned that the brackets are not assigned a part number and therefore could not be ordered. A new blower was shipped and the mounting bracket could not be used because the cavity in the hood is not large enough to accommodate the brackets. You would never know this reading the instructions because the illustrations are outdated and not accurate. Luckily, the permanent nuts and bolts did fit the unit. Once installed it works great and it amazingly powerful (1200 cubit feet per minute) on high. Great product except for the installation instructions and supplied mounting hardware.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hood caused a great deal of headache regarding installation. But, with a 48 inch range you need a super powerful hood. Once installed it has worked wonderfully.
