HP Touchsmart= GREAT!! From the second we turned this bad boy on, there have been no complaints. I didn't think the touchscreen would be that great, but i was wrong!! Even the keyboard is above average on my typical scale. The beats audio is amazing!! We've still yet to tap into all the featurers, but I'm sure there will be no complaints anywhere down the line! It absolutely is capable of doing every thing we want from it. This is a huge upgrade for us! As technology grows, we grow with it and love it. I'd highly recommend to anyone who spends a lot of time on computers with photos, music and more.

Unfortunate purchase
on November 11, 2011

I was sold (and offered) an 23 inch external HDMI monitor because the TouchSmart supports 2 HDMI ports. Only to learn, within minutes of unpacking, that the HDMI Ports for the TouchSmart are HDMI INPUT only, not for an extra monitor.
Otherwise, I'm happy with it, but have no idea who uses their PC to input 2 HDMI devices. I sincerely wish I could have a 2nd external monitor that that shopping guide / cart suggested while customizing my PC purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The All-In-1 I should have gotten the 1st time

I bought a Sony VIAO all in one and it was nothing, but a constant disappointment. It cost me more than this machine and is underpowered relatively in every way.
While this one has a touch screen that is precise and responsive all the way to the edges (you know, where the icon are) the VIAO was not making the touch screen pretty useless. Add to that the VIAOs straight up and down configuration only and the touch screen quickly became little more than a very expensive novelty. With this computer I'm actually disappointed when I have to use the keyboard. The touchscreen is a legitimate asset to the usability of this computer.
In every other respect this computer out performs the VIAO; better speakers, more memory capability, a hyperthread capable quad core and a better graphics chip with more dedicated graphic memory. It even has a 7200 rpm harddrive while the VIAO only offered a 5K HDD.
The VIAO couldn't even play WoW at top settings. WoW is not a demanding game. The VIAO would choke rendering video, I couldn't even do my 5 minute demo reel on it. This machine handles all of the demands that I throw at it handily even while running virus and spyware scans in the background.
My advice to anyone looking for an AIO that WORKS, avoid Sony, they make sad little toys. This is the computer to get and it will cost you less for more in every respect!

A good system that could have been excelent

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing, so I knew what I was in for.
It is a very nice system, and will likely be our family main PC for years to come.
However, it is lacking a few things:
No USB 3! Come on guys, it's 2012, and you're still *only* putting USB 2.0 in these systems!? I'd like to use the newest peripherals that take advantage of USB 3, and I can't on this system. My laptop that I purchased a year and a half ago can..
Lack of quality 3D. I picked the nVidia display option with 2GB of memory in hopes of getting amazing 3D performance. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. 3DMark struggles at 4FPS, and looks horrible. 3D games do seem to be playable as long as you don't max out the settings.
I love the form factor, and will likely purchase future PCs like it.
There are a few neat touch-enabled applications that come with it that you can show-off the touch features, but none seem all that practical. My wife uses the touch screen when browsing the web, but I find the mouse to be much more accurate and usable.
The two HDMI inputs are nice, but I'd rather that they also be outputs to push the system to another display. They only seem to be usable through a somewhat clunky (and slow) "HP Picture in Picture" software. When you double click the icon to launch it, nothing happens for 20 seconds, during which time you're trying to figure out why its not working. Why on earth should it take that long to switch inputs to the display? Why not have a physical button on the side to control the input selection?
HP TouchSmart Magic Canvas seems alright if you like a nice touch desktop, I like the Windows desktop myself, and it's easy to switch back and forth.
Blue-rays do play nice, and at their native resolution, which is great! One of the main reasons I went with this model.
Overall a very nice system. Had a few things been handled better, it could have been an excellent system.

So Far So Good

I've owned the touchsmart 610q for a few weeks now and love it so far. I replaced my 11 yr. old Dell 4600, which I never had a problem with. This computer is very fast and easy to use. The only issue I have with it so far is, when it goes to sleep, I can't wake it up. To get it turned on again I need to unplug it and plug it back in. Better than what I was used to for sure.

Great Viewing and Listening Experience

The 23” touch screen and built-in Beats audio speakers make watching music videos and listening to my personal collection of music mp3’s such an incredible experience. The video and stereo sound are awesome. The most unbelievable fact about this computer is that it is so powerfully fast, yet easy to use. I pulled it out of the box, plugged it into the wall, and it worked. I was dumbfounded because I couldn’t believe it was that easy to set-up; it worked right out of the box with no hassle. I was so impressed with this computer that I bought another one for my best friend as a birthday present. This is a great product at a reasonable price.

It's great! No more wires! Everything on the desk top! Large screen! There are so many features, some I haven't even tried yet. Use the keyboard, mouse or touch screen. Your choice. If your old computer crashes, this is the one to purchase!
