It is a good item overall. My original jar lasted over 5 years but with infrequent use, like about 30 times a year. The jar started leaking from the bottom and when it was used for the last time, some small plastic particles got mixed up with the food item that I was blending.
I’ve been using Blendtec for years and have gone through a few jars. While I am still not really a fan of the square shape, as it is hard to clean, I do admit that it blends better in that shape compared to the more rounded jars on the market. This jar seems more compact and uses less materials than previous but it also feels more plastic-y and cheap. Does it get the job done? Yes. Do I love it? Meh. Glass would have been better, as it doesn’t stain over time. But this thing is built to be replaced in 1-2 years, which seems to be a larger trend, so it’s hard to be excited about it.
We shall see. The original jar lasted 527 uses in less than three years. My wife uses this just about every day to make a smoothie to take to work. I used it during chemo treatments to help with calories. I wish this jar could be repaired. The top needs sealed by the bottom should be able to be serviced. The bearings went out on the original. Get some bearings for American Roller Bearing Company.
My jar bearing is broken AGAIN. I bought a replacement jar at a local dealer to replace the one that originally came with my blender and broke after only a few years. Now this one is 3 years old and the bearing is sticking and won't blend correctly and making the motor run strangely AGAIN. I'm so angry.
