Excellent Blender, Poor Bottom Gasket

I love this blender, but am put off by the poor life of the container given that after about 300 cycles the blade does not spin freely. I clean and maintain it regularly, so I feel cheated. I clean it even better than the manual suggests so this shouldn't be happening. I am the only user, so there is no way somebody could be tampering with it or abusing it without my knowledge. It would be great if this blender had a kit to change the gasket at the bottom. THIS WOULD SET THIS PROBLEM TO REST AND LOCK IT IN AS A '10'. I don't think the competition does this. Nudge! Nudge!

We're sorry you're experiencing issues with the gasket. If you're still under warranty, we can get it replaced for you! Give our customer service team a call at 1-800-748-5400.
I use this jar a lot. It's great for cake, muffin, and brownie batters. Everything goes in there (wet ingredients first), you press a button, then you have batter. Pouring into muffin tins or ramekins is easy because of the jar's square shape. Then, cleanup is just a matter of adding some hot water from the sink and a bit of dish soap, then pressing another button (you might have to repeat the process with batter, but once is enough with smoothies). It takes time and patience (at least ten minutes of continuous care) to make thicker things like nut butters, hummus, and homemade lara bars, and a little less for ice cream, but it can be done by pulsing for a few seconds, scraping the contents back towards the blades, and repeating. It makes good nut flours and chickpea flour, but its rice flour, tapioca flour, and powdered sugar are too grainy for my taste. Make sure you don't get lazy with cleaning it right away. If you leave it, then you'll have to soak it in the sink, and the seal at the bottom that keeps the contents from dripping out will weaken (as I've experienced after three years of doing this). You can also spin the blades manually (with the blender unplugged!) before you use it to save the seal.
I got my Blendtec as a Father's Day gift over three years ago and we love it. We did have to recently replace the Fourside Jar because we use it everyday. My wife & I start each day with a custom smoothie full of Kale, frozen blueberries and other trendy "good for you" stuff. It's filling and I feel I started my day right, which inspires me to "behave" the rest of the day. Sometimes we take frozen bananas, a little almond milk or dare I say half-n-half, and wow, what a treat.
I love my Blendtec. I just replaced my jar. Looking forward to more years with my machine. If/when it fails, I will by another. I actually make vegetable drinks more then sweet smoothies. I can get the WHOLE vegetable. Much better than juicing.
I am now looking at buying a third jar. I am not sure how long these things a re supposed to last but the original died, bearing at the bottom went bad. Bought the second on 3-4 years ago and the bearing at th bottom is going bad also. Very disappointing for such a well made motor base.
Bought this about 3 years ago. After about 300 uses, it started leaking at the bottom. Blendtec replaced as it really shouldn't have failed in that short of period. I have well over 1,000 uses on the second jar and it is holding up perfectly. This is by far the best blender. I make smoothies and veggie drinks in and it really works.
I love my blendtec, I have had it for 5 years and I use it so much the seal on the jar broke and I had to purchase a new one. I use it everyday, love it, love it love it!!!!
I've had this product for over 10 years and I just recently had to replace the cup because I couldn't take the blade and the cup a part. The blade even after this many years chopped like it did the first day I got it. I'm sure I can take it somewhere and have them take the blade out and replace the rubber seal on the bottom. But rather than trying to find a place to get the cup fixed I just got a new one, because I know that it will last me at least another 10 years if not more.
