I bought this just to replace my original, which, after six years, shattered when I was running the blender. I guess it just gave out. The new lid design is great! It really stays put. There is no leakage and it seems like it stays cleaner during use than the old one did. For example, with the old lid, when I ground coffee, the inside would be covered in coffee grounds. Now, it's pretty clean and I can just rinse it off.

I found out after I purchased these jars "on sale" that I could have bought a new Blendtec for about $20 more at Costco. These are the last jars that I will buy. I am done with this product.

I just bought a new jar -- the old one was leaking after 6-7 years (thanks for the great product!). It's very lucky that my old lid is as good as new (thanks for the great product!), because it's so easy to scrape the smoothie goodness off it with a scraper, unlike from the newly-designed lid. The latter has narrow and curved rut, which requires a small, narrow object to do the job. I don't have such an object; a tea spoon doesn't do a good enough job. I tried the new lid a couple times but eventually shelved it in frustration. I wonder if other folks give similar feedback and if BT would consider going back to the old design in future iterations.

Chunky blend!

I bought this jar a year ago and I have been very unhappy with it. It does not blend smooth, does not stay sealed (yes it broke open and exploded all over) and leaves chunks. I have tried all of Blendtec's ideas of how to make this work better but it does not fix the problem. Don't waste your time! Ive even had this exact jar replaced once because the first just fell apart in the bearing. Get the wild side (wish I could but it is not economical to buy another jar). Not happy with it!
