Great features, but poor quality and parts to expensive. Our oven needed repair after 13 months because of poor quality from the factory.

This product has 2 major design flaws..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this product in Sept 2012. Works well. However the key pad is poorly designed from a viewing perspective. The lettering is extremely difficult to read against the black backround. It does not light up and cannot been seen at all unless the overhead lighting is on. This is extremely annoying. I need to put on my reading glasses as well.
Additionally, another poor design is the "stainless steel" handle. It peels from the heat given off by the high output burner just below which is also a GE stainless steel stove. Now the door has to be replaced after only 5 months of use. I was told by the tech that this will continue to happen. Hope GE has enough doors in stock to keep replacing. I would not recommend this appliance because of these 2 design flaws.

I brought this microwave oven three years ago, and the it craped out a year ago. But we were still able to use the it for popping popcorn and warming things up! Not being able to use the button to set the timer. Today, 2/18/17, a noise was coming from it, so I unplug it! Do not waste your money on this microwave oven, you will live to regret it.

Unit wouldn't shut off then the display went blank.
Less then 4 years old! It's a shame major parts don't have at least a 5 year warranty.

This Microwave Has Been a Constant Headache

This microwave and the rest of the appliances were offered as the "top of the line" options for our new home. I would more likely characterize this microwave as the bottom of the barrel. We have had to replace the complete door, electronics and now a 2nd door handle since we moved into the house. Some of the service was while the microwave was still under warrantee but we have certainly dished out enough cash to have bought a new microwave twice over. The builder gave us no choice other than GE appliance but after this experience we would never again buy another GE product - and note, my dad worked for GE for decades and retired from GE.

How is this a Profile?

I specifically purchased this based on the brand of being the higher end of the GE products. First issue within a year the arm of the door started to peel and last night it stopped working. I am VERY surprised that this is a GE profile product. I've owned lower end products that lasted a heck of a lot longer and spent a lot less. GE I am extremely disappointed and hope the other GE Profile products last longer then this did.
