looks great but vent exhaust flap has broken twice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the vent exhaust flap went out during the warranty period and was replaced. almost 12 months to the day i installed the replacement, the replacement part failed. ge eventually sent a replacement part, but it was a bit of a battle. overall, the microwave looks good and does what it is supposed to do. however, the fact that the vent exhaust flap has gone out twice is unacceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great except for plastic handle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The external construction is, I believe, all metal - including stainless steel, except for the door handle which has a plastic covering. As a result, due to the heat exposure (over the range model ) this covering is breaking down - blistering and coming apart. Consequently, the appearance has greatly suffered. A metal handle would be a great improvement.

A great addition to our kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the GE Profile Convection Over-the-Range Microwave Oven to replace our old OTR microwave. We decided to look for a convection oven to give us the additional cooking/baking oven plus the benefits of a microwave. We picked the GE model because of the size, price and features. We have had it for 6 months now. Having it for the holidays made cooking an absolute dream! I put the turkey in the main oven and cooked 5 sides and pies in the convection oven! No more waiting and wondering if fitting side dishes under or around the turkey are cooking properly! We are very happy : )

Sleek, Beautiful Microwave that Performs Extremely Well

Since we wanted as much cabinet space as possible, we chose this microwave that can also serve as a second oven since we wanted to save the space that would have been necessary for double ovens. We love this microwave that works as beautifully as it looks!

con- Once a strange error message appeared on display and would not clean. I entered "Power Saver" mode and then came out of it to return to normalcy.

Good microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this microwave. It has a great amount of space, love the convection oven, we've been happy with it. I do not however, like the turn dial to control cook times. The lowest amount of cook time you can set it for is 15 sec. otherwise you have to stand there and turn it down once you start the microwave. The covering on the handle also melted after I boiled some salsa underneath the microwave, but GE replaced it with no questions asked so hopefully it won't happen again. Overall, we do like the microwave and would recommend it.
