Overall, a Good Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have good lighting in our kitchen, yet the control panel is barely readable. The characters should have been much more prominent (for example, white, not gray).
The instruction manual does not do a very good job of explaining how the settings should be adjusted in order to compensate for the faster cooking time when using the oven in convection mode.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We changed from black to stainless appliances in October 2011 and ordered the exact same GE Profile model because it is something I cannot live without. The size and the TWO baking racks are fabulous for baking pies, cobblers, and cookies to perfection. Our niece and her family are enjoying our "old" GE Profile convection-microwave, now 8 years old. She also loves it and uses it frequently. If I could buy another one and save it for the future, I would!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had read several reviews on line of other convection oven/microwaves. Everyone had a problem with operation, power, or size. One that routinely came out at 4-plus stars was the GE Profile model. My wife was at first luke warm at the idea. Mounting was easy. Operation was a little less than intuitive, but easy to learn. She was pulling out a new twist that the oven did everyday for a week. The convection oven is a champ and has been used for tater tots, pies, and roasts. The microwave heating presets are awesome. We plan on moving soon and the first thing she asked was, "Can we replace the microwave and take this one with us?" That says volumes.

Almost Perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Microwaves are great to have in a kitchen. To have one that bakes, roasts & has a convection feature as well as micro/convection combination cycle is just downright marvelous.
This oven will soon become indispensable. You will wonder what you did without it.
I say it is almost perfect because of a couple of niggles. Not being able to set timer in anything but 15 second intervals is one & the other is the keypad is not back lit.

I bought one of these after using the stand alone version of this particular microwave for a kitchen remodel, a little over 2 years ago. I'm glad that I did, as I wouldn't want any other microwave over my stove. It's extremely easy to use and does everything it was designed to do very well, from making popcorn to baking a soufflé.
The pros would be sensor cooking (popcorn key that actually works!!!), the convection baking and roasting modes, the style this unit has, and the quirky but very functional control knob. Also, it functions very well as a vent fan and a nightlight.
The cons would be the amount of noise this unit can make - while I do expect to hear a magnetron in the kitchen while in use, you can also hear the magnetron in an adjacent room, and the fans at medium and high are loud, the difficulty you can have cleaning a baked-on mess from the stainless interior, and changing the lightbulb for the stovetop light can test the patience of a Jedi.
To say this thing is built like a tank is an understatement; I had an issue with the power coming into my house where one branch ran between 136 and 143v and the other (which was the branch this unit is on) ran between 92 and 104v. While it didn't cook with these low voltages, it didn't catastrophically fail like some of my kitchen electrics did (those kitchen electrics were also on the low voltage side).
Finally, for those of you that have an issue with the 15 second thing, here's something for you to try - once the microwave is started, you can turn the knob to add or subtract time in 5 second intervals. Why you would leave your microwave when you're nuking something for less than 15 seconds is beyond me, but I thought I'd pass that along.

Thoroughly Modern Up to Date Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave is nothing short of a joy! The unit performs perfectly is easy to use and is so versatile.
The unit looks great with the new matching stove.
Only thing missing would be to have a baked potatoe setting visible as a choice. There is a choice for this but you have to go into the settings.
Buy this unit, you will not be sorry.
