Unreliable performance and handle melts (plastic)

This microwave is not reliable in its heating performance.
Turns off in between heating and sometimes starts on its own.
The Door handle is made of plastic with foil coating.
This gets destroyed by stove heat.

We love this convection microwave for how energy friendly it is for smaller meals when using convection feature, Not to mention how quiet this unit is in comparison to our older Ge microwave.

Purchased 2 of this unit at the same time. One has worked from day one with no problems. The other is a lemon. We have not gone a full year without the unit dropping dead.

"We bought this microwave a year and a half ago. We have been very happy with how it works; however, it is the ONLY microwave I've ever seen that does not have a light inside it. It makes it very difficult to keep an eye on things while they cook etc. I never even considered asking about that before we bought it, as I assumed all microwaves had lights. My mistake. Had I known, I would not have purchased this.

We would never buy a GE Profile appliance again. I can't tell you how many times we've had to replace switches in the door. Usually while replacing the switch we have to replace the arm that the switches sit in because the process is so stinking hard. We've had to replace the handle 3 times. Nope!
