Great LED TV although Minor Flaws

Reviews play a big part in any television purchase and since I relied heavily on them, it only made sense for me to provide a good review that could help others. Overall, once this TV is setup correctly and all calibration and adjustments are made, it is by far one of the best TVs out there in terms of picture quality, clarify and accuracy. The out of box setting is acceptable but will feel like you are at a big box electronics store. There are a few calibration settings out forums so just search for them, try them all and choose your pick. There is some clouding especially when displaying blacks but nothing that will stand out during a normal movie. It is not distracting enough to take your attention away from any movie. Overall blacks are great. TV is loaded with features and options starting from full calibration settings to internet apps galore. One big con is that the navigation menu/software is far from superior. In fact, it can be downright horrible at times. You will get used to it but it could be better. Internet WI-FI built in is great but getting strong signal is not the best. I ended up using a wired connection with a wireless repeater. The TV tuner is borderline. It takes a few seconds to switch between channels regardless of advancing channels or punching in the channel numbers. Finally, this LED TV is the best value out there. For the price, you cannot go wrong. It is clearly about $200 cheaper than the competition and Sharp makes their own LCD panels.
Pros: picture quality, build quality, apps and dlna, connectivity, viewing angle, color and black levels, netflix quality, user adjustable settings, 120hz, price
Cons: tuner, wireless connection, software/menu settings, some clouding

LC40LE830U

Rich vibrant colors, even back-lighting, great picture from movies to sports to animation. I turned off film mode, with it on it made the picture look like it was dropping frames. Very thin bezel, just a nice big screen to look at. With a slim wall mount my screen is just a touch over 2” off the wall.
Also I assumed I’d be losing audio quality going with think LED back-lit panel, but the LC-40830U has a “subwoofer” on the back that gives some decent bass and really nice mid-range sound.

Excellent LED TV

I had high expectations for this TV, but after reading some negative reviews I was also a bit concerned. I have not found any issues with this TV since it arrived. The picture is amazing. I made some minor adjustments to the factory settings, though. The wifi was easy to set up. I don't really care for any of the apps, though, as they are mostly PPV. I prefer this TV to my friend's new Samsung 120hz LED - LCD. I think that the Sharp handles the white and black levels better.
Pros: ease of use, picture quality
Cons: app selection

I love this tv. I used to have the 46 inch sharp aquos and it was a very nice tv but the quattron is noticeably better! also the built in netflix and the pandora apps are very nice to have without having to use the xbox or computer. I love this tv!
Pros: great picture, great sound, easy to use, netflix works well, apps are easy to access and use, set up was easy, lots of hdmi slots and inputs
Cons: pricey but all tvs are these days, typeing on the remote makes the internet useless

I think I made a big mistake

I just bought this TV and had it wall mounted. I bought it to replace a 5 year old Sony Bravia LCD because I really wanted a thinner, lighter LED to put on the wall. After a weekend of football and hockey, I can tell you that this TV isn't for sports fans. Imagine every thrown or kicked football, and puck passed with pace with a weird halo around it. Annoying, right? I'm living it now. I have a 720P Sharp LCD that doesn't have this problem. If this is progress I'm disturbed.
Cons: blur
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I know I am pretty late to the game in writing this review since this TV has been out for a while. This is a very nice set. I would recommend looking up some of the setting adjustments for the picture and you will get a much better viewing experience. Never been a huge fan of Sharp but this TV is very impressive.
