the unit does a fantastic job cooling my 450 sq foot room & is about as quiet as a 12,000 btu can be , but the design is rather poor because of the vents on the out side top allow light to show thru the styrofoam wall so it looks like your vents are lighted from within . This is a minor annoyance and if not for that would have given it a 5 star rating all the way plus it has awesome little remote . . . hey if you can deal with the light shine thru its a fantastic unit for the price & i would definitely buy it again too
