[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I love the cleaning action and the stainless tub, I would not buy this model again as the door latch needs to be reconfigured. It has no easy release and most times I have to use both hands to pull it open after it has finished its cycle. Due to this design the finish light mechanism which is under the latch no longer shows up on the panel. For that reason I have given it only 3 stars.

Maytag is not what it use to be

Maytag appliances are really junk today - made by whirlpool. Never again - I have always owned Maytag appliances but now after having my dishwasher fall apart after warranty and an extended warranty (which you have to purchase today) however I really believe a button gets pressed when all warranty is off and your appliance self destructs. I also own a microwave and the handle broke off - really that's junk!!

Bought this unit in 2012, 2 years later had to replace the control panel. Now it's 2 years later and the control panel needs replaced again. I wouldn't take another Maytag product if they were giving it away.

Great Dishwasher Lousy Control Panel

I've had this dishwasher for 3.5 years and the Control Panel stopped working. I found out this is a common problem with this washer. Big problem is Maytag is always out of the parts (about $150) plus labor to install. Usually 2 to 3 week wait. Repair guys want $200 to install it, if and when they can get it.Maytag(Whirlpool) used to be a Quality product. Now it's just as poor Quality as the others. 3 different repair guys said it's not worth fixing.

Dream/nightmare

I purchased this dishwasher back on 12/4/11 with the extended protection plan 4year and right after the plan expires the front panel starts to break open and the circuit board gets fried, with no plan I don't recall the amount it cost me to get it fixed but we did and now it has happened again just about a year or so later WOW what timing. Now with 5 kids and I'm the only parent working its going to be hard to get it fixed or get back to school supplies, I think school supplies are the way to go. Sorry Maytag Looks like I need to do some more research next time. This model MDB7749AWB is a great machine at first but if you have it for a long time with anyone who has any kind of arm strength than it is going to break. Bad setup there.

This is the worst dishwasher and Maytag appliance I have ever owned. I have had Jenn-Air, Maytag, and Kitchen Aid appliances for years and I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product ever.
