Quiet, efficient ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] W've had this for 3 months now and enjoy the quiet operation and the efficient and easy access ice maker. Fits well in our small space. Freezer is smaller than expected however that is not a major problem for us.

Great Refrigerator

Water and Ice dispenser is horrible!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Water and Ice go allover the place making a mess in the tray. If unaware of water in drip tray, opening the freezer causes a mess on the floor and on the exterior door of the freezer.

comparison of old and new

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this model a month ago, it is an updated model of my old one. In just 6 years you have more than doubled the price of a slightly updated refrigerator, WHY?????!!!!!! I know inflation is bad but more than double the price in just 6 years and with some less features, I know inflation is but, but this is ridiculous. in those aforementioned 6 years I have had to replace several parts on the old one, so it has not been a trouble-free period.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works well but defective icemaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator was delivered and installed as expected. Within 24 hours we loaded it with groceries and put in service according to the instructions. We noticed a small crack on one of the drawers. What was most annoying was that after a few days of operation the icemaker's area in the freezer became covered with frost and icicles. Furthermore, the light switch in the freezer section is defective as it does not always light up when opening the door. We called the manufacturer and were assured a new drawer would be sent out to us and were told to increase the temperature of the freezer to stop the frost from building up. We appreciate the replacement of the drawer. With regard to the frost and icicles, increasing the temperature by one notch helped only partially. The appliance works and it is quiet. The doors are slightly misaligned. The interior design and materials are of inferior quality for the price paid and we believe the good name of Whirlpool could be better represented.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fits Our Needs and Space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had our new refrigerator for almost 2 weeks now. While I would have preferred a french door fridge, our space limitations did not allow for it. So, we had to go with anoth side-by-side style. This fridge is slightly bigger than the 20 cu. ft. Whirlpool fridge we previously had for 16 years (which still worked perfectly). Although the glass shelves are not adjustable, this fridge actually has 1 more shelf than the old fridge and the door bins are more accommodating. Within a short time of plugging the unit in and connecting the water line, the ice maker started producing ice. The water dispenses at a faster pace than the old unit, which is especially handy. We have found the unit to be quiet, and the sleek appearance and clearance at the base is appealing to us. The real test will come in a few days when family is here for the holidays and we'll be packing more food in for multiple meals. However, we anticipate it to be more than adequate and capable of handling our needs. This unit was a good purchase for the value, size and functionality.
