Changing the filter is almost scary to see what the air purifier cleans out of the air we breathe. I wish I had two of these to clean the back side of the house too.

These filters have 3 lbs of carbon and do a great job of removing VOCs from the air but they do seem to cause more resistance to air flow through the machine, making it work harder. It is definitely louder with these filters than with the standard HEPA filter and I think it may cause premature failure of the machine. Fortunately Allen has always replaced the units when they fail so it has been no more than a small inconvenience to me.

I live in a small studio on the 3rd floor facing the street. One of the great things about it is that it creates some white noise so I can sleep better.
I definitely noticed less dust and I can breathe easier.

It works!!!

I have been using my Alen Filter for the last 3 years off and on. I have allergies and asthma from indoor dust and pet dander... we lived in an apartment with carpet, so the air filter was running 24 hrs a day. Since we moved to the beach ( salty air cleans the lungs) my problems have cleared up to almost not existing anymore . I now run my filter when I can not open the windows . It cleans the pollution out of whatever comes out from the air ducts. It's an old building and lord knows what's inside. Thanks to Alen's Airpurifier I can breathe easy again.
