Until now I've never owned a TV that simply made me happy by being there. I am consistently pleased with the picture quality and having 3D (even if it does turn out to be nothing more than a fad) is just plain fun! Even programming from old sources (like VHS transfers) seems to have new life. I got a great deal when I bought this (even if it still felt a little pricey), but I have had no regrets whatsoever.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After having the pn59d8000 for 3 months i noticed terrible burn in. This unit has very little use daily 5:00 - 6:00 am then 8-10pm. The burn in shows an 89 degree temp and a local time of 5:00 . This is unusual cause all the screen burn protection features are in use. I DO NOT recommend the pn plasma series tv for any cable tv use.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, quick burn in

Good picture

I had purchased the pn51d800 first, and as a rare occasion I got a lemon. The picture flickered right out of the box, and the screen would go black only days later. I returned the tv with no problem and upgraded to the pn59d8000.
I have had no problems with this new tv. The picture is incredible and the price was right.

Great while it lasted

I will say that while this TV functioned properly we were quite pleased with it. However, today while watching the TV it made a sound like faint static and then a four inch tall section along the entire length of the screen went white. The picture is completely ruined. We have owned this for 14 months.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have used for less than a month but am amazed at the quality and ease of use. I did a lot of research and decided on this Plasma unit over an LED.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Difficult to use the hub

frustrating to use. have to enter a wep key everytime we use the smart hub. inconsistent connection. keyboard controller is annoying. the picture is good but the technology to turn on and use is not what it should be.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, connectivity is difficult
