Stay Away

After having two bad top of the line Samsung LED televisions I gave this TV a chance because i had bought Samsung 3D glasses and didnt want to waste them. Well, the picture was better than the LED's by a mile but the quality of the product is just there. The TV had a horrible buzzing sound that was very noticable. In addition, the picture would "pop" in and out of good color and wasted out color. For being the flag ships of Samsung I am very dissapointed in their products.

Very poor quality. This TV lasted for only 13 months before its has been diagnosed as needing a new power supply board replacement. Will never buy any Samsung product again.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome plasma TV for the price

Sexy design, thin profile, small footprint, 4 HDMI connections, simple navigation, unbelievable blacks and color production. 3D movies look phenomenal. I like how the 3d glasses automatically turn on and off as you activate and deactivate 3D on the TV. Even the 2D to 3D feature is impressive.
Pros: Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: too short power cord, only one component connection
I would recommend this to a friend!

After I purchased my first Samsung I knew what the standard should be, I compare all purchases to Samsung. I currently own 3 Samsung TV's. the 59" 3D 8000 series Plasma my latest purchase. The sales person tried to sway my purchase to another brand of similar cost but I never had good luck with the that brand, in TV's and camcorders. The picture is outstanding, and ease of use and setup. the smart 3D tv is amazing. My friends and family see my tv and they also had to have a Samsung, three people saw it so far and all three purchased their own

Perfect...Once Firmware Upgrade Is Released

Got this TV as a replacement for my PN58C7000 when the back panel went out and wasn't repairable (Samsung warrantied the TV even though I was a month past the warranty expiration...10 Stars for that!!!!).
Overall I LOVE the new features, the browser is a great addition and I can CERTAINLY see the picture quality and 3D picture quality upgrades from the C7000 model. Glad I paid the additional money for the upgrade to the D8000 series.
Wish I had the money to buy another one for the bedroom. My only issue with this TV is that I've had to reset my Smart Hub at least 3 times in the last month because it would just hang and not connect to anything. So after resetting it it worked fine. I backtracked thinking it was a network issue but that wasn't the case, it was simply the interface. I'm thinking a Firmware upgrade will correct this so hope that's coming soon.
My other issue is that the Samsung DLNA software is outdated and needs to be upgraded. The fact that I can't use an external hard drive as my media center is a travesty, again something that I hope to see upgraded soon.
Picture is awesome, but the buzzing generated by the set is horrible. After turning the TV off, my ears ring for an hour or so. I may need to return this TV.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: buzzing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our first flat screen HD TV

We waited until we had a "Man Cave" before we purchased a flat screen TV. We chose 59" D8000 because of the picture quality and 3D reviews online and we haven't been disappointed.
Only downsides are the default input which is the cable input which in the US is not very realistic since most cable systems require a cable box with HDMI output cabability, and it did not come with 3D Glasses.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: input default should be user selectable, did not come with 3d glasses
