My friend had one of these running and I thought she had a real water feature in the room. I love all the different sounds it makes and it is so realistic. I love mine.
The SoundSpa has allowed me to sleep more deeply than I have in years. It lulls me to sleep and blocks out the early morning traffic noise that used to wake me. I prefer the "white noise" button, but any of the others--thunder, rain, brook, wind--are just as effective. I've tried the all.
This is my third one of these. Use every night all night.

Use this noise machine for our babies room. Every night there is a new constant beeping sound. Not happy with it.

I've had two of the previous ones - they both had that "heartbeat" which I didn't like - it was eery......this new one has the thunder and the rain that I really like - no more barking dogs, noisy backyard neighbors, and the garbage men who rattle the cans......thank you!
We stayed in a Portland Courtyard Marriott near the airport and were initially concerned about getting to sleep with the flight patterns all night. We were very pleased to see a Homedics sound devise on our night table. We used an ocean sound and slept without a problem. So when we got home I went straight to the website and purchased one. It just might be our Xmas gift to each of our adult kids!
I purchased this machine to replace the same model that I had purchased several years ago. PRO: Small footprint and low profile. Infinite volume control. Rain sound loop is long enough that that my brain doesn't recognize a repeated pattern. Relatively inexpensive to replace when the machine fails. CON: The on/off/volume control apparently has a design flaw, so eventually the machine will fail to work properly.
