Picked out the Whirlpool Side by Side after looking at many brands and features of other products. Loved the space in the freezer with the in the door icemaker. Even better once we got it home and actually got to use it for ourselves. Quiet and seems very well constructed. Door alarm is handy incase my son doesn't get the door closed. Would recommend to everyone.

Love the size of both sides, water and ice in the door, glass shelves easy to clean and the electronics warning when door is open, icons on freezer door are great and the stainless is so easy to keep clean. Ice holder removes so easily for dumping.

Good fridge overall, but has some shortcomings

We purchased this fridge this summer and have been happy overall. However, there are a few shortcomings. The biggest of which is the lack of shelves in the freezer and lack of a dairy compartment (top of fridge door). One has to stack things several items deep to get full use of the freezer space, which is annoying. The ice maker falls short for our family of four at high usage times (summer), but is otherwise great. A rattle/clunking noise (compressor per repairman) has developed over time when the doors are shut, but was told there was not repair for it and it is only mildly annoying. It might not seem we are happy with the fridge, but we are because it is light years better than the other two brands we had before. The repairman was here so much we got to know him by name with those brands. In fact, he recommended the Whirlpool brand for a replacement brand when the other one paid out on the extended warranty. He stated he hardly ever had repair calls on the Whirlpool brand fridges. I don't think we will be seeing much of him now.

We looked at a lot of refrigerators that cost a whole lot more that couldn't lure us away and a few that were similar in price that just didn't measure up. We loved it since the day it was delivered!

My new Whirlpool fridge

We have 2 homes & I bought a new refridgerator for both homes. One is a Fridgidare & one a Whirlpool. I like the Whirlpool better because it is much quieter particularly making ice, however the ice doesn't stay as well over a long period, if not used it turns into a solid block of ice & is difficult to get out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a decent refrigerator.

The features are nice, but the water dispenser is slow even with the valve wide open and the first cup of water is always warm. It is also noisier than the old refrigerator.
