Product has improved water & ice dispenser

We recently moved to a new home with Whirlpool stainless steel built-in appliances, so we decided to leave our 6-yr old white Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator - which was working well. There were only 2 frustrations with the old model: Excess water from the dispenser would accumulate in the small drip tray and, unless continuously dried off, eventually ran down the front of the door. The other was having one less shelf in the center of the freezer section - even though there were supports for one.I was pleased to find that this model's water dispenser doesn't have the same issue. The old model had a very light spring action on the water operating lever, whereas this model has larger, flat surface controls to operate both ice and water dispensers, that are quite a bit harder to press. The firmer acting switch means that a glass is often still beneath the water exit tube, when the water stops flowing, so it's less likely to drip. I can imagine that those with limited hand strength could have difficulty using the new design, so check it out in store, if this might be a concern.Alas, like our old one, it still seems like there's a 'missing' shelf or basket in the freezer section of this model. We solved the problem in our old one using a plastic mesh basket that fit the opening just right - and was used for holding irregular shaped items like bags of frozen food. I'll be looking for a similar basket to use in the new one, but come on Whirlpool... how much would it cost to include a removable plastic basket! (or 2)

This product met our needs and then some

We purchased this product for our business, and it's met all of our needs. It's held up to the frequent use from all of our employees, been easy to keep clean, and with the finish on the outside of the refridgerator it hasn't left hand prints or any marks what so ever. The only issue we had originally was that pop placed on the top shelf in the back of refridgerator did freeze, but once we adjusted the temperature to fit our needs it resolved the issue.

I was a little worried about the high tech features on this refrigerator, but the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I love the look and interior design. The freezer holds a huge amount, which was important to me. I love the icemakier in the door! Terrific feature. The fridge part is very roomy and very well lit.I wish the shelves in the door were more customization able with adjustment and placement. The placement works but I would of liked to have an option to set them up differently. Overall I am very happy with this entire purchase!

icemaker built into the door, no smudge finish on exterior

We got a great deal (price wise) on our fridge. We wanted the look of stainless steel and got one with the finish that does not show finger prints...a life saver when it comes to wiping the surface. The extra feature that is our favorite...the icemaker is built into the door. This gives us an additional shelf in the freezer side.Other features we fell in love with: the quiet when the icemaker and motor of fridge are running. You can barely hear anything. Our fridge is bigger than the old one...more interior space. The lines on the outside are sleek, the door handles are quite lovely and the doors open easily. The interior storage is perfect..we love it!!
