Not very good

Uses lots of ink found my self at Office-depot all the time buying ink cartridges.
The fax machine is terrible would not send out all the fax documents. Its ok if you just send out 1 or 2 pages but that's about all.
Wireless part is nice that's about all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a good device overall, but its deficiencies are annoying.
Pro: Document print and scan are good, as is fax function. Build quality is good, design is generally user-friendly.
Con: Photo printing is unacceptable. Long and noisy mechanical initialization. Bring a flashlight: no light on LCD screen! Printer is thirsty, and cartridges are expensive. Duplex printing is manual, although I knew that going in; I wasn't prepared to be as annoyed as I am. Why must the user manual be installed like an application, instead of providing a PDF like everybody else under the sun? Scanning software (MP Navigator) is clunky, with inexplicable limitations.
Pros: Superior build quality, many features for this price point
Cons: need flashlight to read lcd screen
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Cinch to Use

This Cannon printer is the "best" printer I've had by far. The ink cartriges are so easy to install and the print quality is "fantastic". Being my first wireless printer I wasn't sure about the reliability but it does the job above and beyond my expectations. I "highly recommend" this printer for someone like me who is cost conscious but looking for quality as well. This is also my first Cannon printer & I will buy another Cannon when the time comes for a new printer in the future.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, durable, Low Ink Consumption, easy to use, easy to use buttons, wireless printing
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tiresome

Ugh. We've had this printer for a while now, 2 years maybe? What a pain. This printer is continually "offline". Or at least that's what it tells me every time I attempt to print anything. I've fiddled with it in a million ways ... unplugging, plugging in, holding the power button, troubleshooting, searching for and implementing dozens of step by step, how to fix your printer problem webpages etc. My husband finally hardwired the 'wireless' printer and voila - success ... until ... it was offline again? So frustrating. When it does print, the images are clear and good quality, but it's so rare that it actually prints, I can't say that the quality of the images matters much to me. (Side-note: there is not a back light on the display and I have to use a flashlight to see it if there isn't direct sunlight in the room.)
Cons: no back-light on display, constant troubleshooting, perpetually "offline"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do not buy any Cannon printers they are a piece of junk stay away from them, wireless will work long enough for the warranty to go out after that you have a piece of baloney
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, Low Quality Output, unreliable, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GOOD DECISION

IN PURCHASING THE CANON PIXMA MX410, I FEEL I MADE THE BEST CHOICE. I LOOKED AT QUITE A FEW PRINTERS BUT THE CANON PIXMA CAUGHT MY EYE. ONE OF THE FEATURES THAT I REALLY LOVE IS THE 4 IN 1 FEATURE. THE FACT THAT IT SCANS, COPIES, PRINTS, AND FAXES ALL FROM ONE MACHINE MAKES IT A REALLY VERSATILE AND HANDY MACHINE. THE PRINT FUNCTION IS EASY TO ACCESS AND THE QUALITY OF THE PRINTS IT MAKES IS SUPERB. SCANNING IS EASY TO USE AS IS MAKING COPIES. PHOTOS THAT I'VE PRINTED OFF OF MY COMPUTER LOOK LIKE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER TOOK THEM. IT WAS EASY TO INSTALL AND IT IS REALLY EASY TO USE. PURCHASING THE CANON PIXMA MX410 WAS INDEED A VERY GOOD DECISION.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cannot receive fax without being physically present.
Defeats the purpose of the fax feature as I have work related faxes go to the house so I can continue from home.
Cons: poor fax functions
