we just purchased this refrigerator, i could not believe how much more room there is, so far its been great, i would recommend this model to everyone, my wife and i really love it

BAD ICE MAKER

We have had our new refrigerator for 2 months, after 1 month the ice maker stopped working it took the first tec to say we needed a new ice maker, Samsung sent a second tec a month later, to say "yes we need a new ice maker!" The rep that sells to where I bought this refrig, said it was exactly like RFG298AAPN (that is the one I wanted), after getting this one it WAS NOT... Makes less then a gallon of ice in a 24 hour period.(when it worked) Bought a portable ice maker to get ice. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS REFRIGERATOR AT ALL...Totally not happy.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, ice maker doesn't work & small
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Shelving Increments Are Terrible

Combination of Shelving heights are horrible. Top Shelf can't go up without losing half of the width of the fridge on the Ice Maker side. Middle shelf can't move up because it then creates too small of an opening for storing anything practical. This leaves the bottom shelf with about a half an inch to short to fit a gallon of milk sliding in without having to tilt and manuever it. Many juice bottles don't fit either leaving the right side door the only possibility for two containers.
The Ice Maker is small too and takes a long time to make.
Drawer freezer is a little awkward, but I think this may be for all drawer freezer designs. If the lower tub is too full, the top tray won't allow the drawer to fully close and is difficult to notice that the seal isn't fully closed. Consequence: moisture and ice crystals form all over, not to mention the loss of energy to run it hard until someone figures it out.
Unfortunately, it was bought on a whim without normal due diligence. This fridge will stay with the house when we move and look forward to getting something much more practical.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor shelving design
