Brightness POPS ruin this TV

Out of the box this TV was incredible. Amazing picture, huge size, and decent price. Unfortunately shortly after my 30 day return window the TV brightness began to pop. Whether watching a blu-ray, tv, or playing a video game the TV brightness begins to pop darker, lighter, darker, then normal. It is very noticeable and takes you out of whatever you're watching.
If you google "samsung brightness pops" and you will see what I am talking about. I have the newest firmware to date but I really, really hope Samsung releases a new update to fix the problems. From what I understand, another TV company had the same problems until they released a firmware update that fixed the problem. This would be a 5 star TV without the brightness problem. PLEASE Samsung, look into it!

Nice TV but have problem

Great picture until black horizontal line appeared. Contacted Samsung and in process of replacement. Courteous service so far from Samsung representative. I am somewhat concerned about some reviews of new replacement model but I am hoping for the best.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: too much reflection on screen, problem after only a few months use

Black vertical lines start showing up after only 4 months of use.

We bought the TV last December '11 and it already has black vertical lines showing up. Customer service said they will replace the front panel, but I was hoping they would just replace the whole thing.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Overall this is a great TV, the only con is: I wish you could better fine tune the picture. Dont get me wrong, The TV has a good picture, I just wish you could better fine tune the picture.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Excellent picture but location of HDMI inputs 3 & 4 make it difficult to hide wires when hanging on wall.
Pros: Realistic color

Just Love this 59" Samsung Plasma TV

Can't say enough good things about it. Great HD Picture in 1080P. Good sound, great features as to adjusting screen size,etc. Love all the bells and whistles. Have not tried 3D,as need to purchase 3D Glasses. I have a Samsung Blu-Ray DVD Player and regular DVD's look like Blu-Ray DVD's on the Plasma Screen.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

This TV has been a pleasure from the moment I purchased it from the store. Setup was fast and simple. The multitude of features the TV provides brings joy to my family and I everyday. A product of true quality craftsmanship, keep up the good work.

Great TV if you know how to solve the kinks!

If you feel as if the colors aren't correct, search for plasma tv color slides so you can "wear" in the diodes evenly.
If your having lots of brightness pops, contact Samsung and there is a new firmware which is not available on this site that they will send. Firmware also improves picture quality.
If you complain a lot, go buy the 8 or 9 thousand series because those are ment to be nearest perfection.

Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: little extra work involved to get it perfect, the 10-point color hack voids warranty, really glossy screen (reflection prone)
