Surprisingly full sound, great spot for my iPod while at home

The most impressive aspect of this unit is the rich clear sound quality. Whether using it for soft background or active listening it really fits the bill. The alarm clock functions are also ample, making daily schedules easy to set up. The "Philips" playlist function, where a good idea, does not always work. I may need to be sure my iPod is in a particular menu position for that to be consistent.
Pros: rich sound, easy alarm setup, strong radio tuner
Cons: philips playlist not always read, display needs straight on view

I think I got a defective product. It turns itself off all the time. This problem has nothing to do with the programming or the sleep function. I think it is just broken. When it is on it sounds good though.

LCD Display Quit Working After One Year

Thought this was great when got for Christmas one year ago...however, an iPad is quite difficult to put on the charger--have to line it up just right and usually took me many many attempts.
Also had a major issue with volume control. For some crazy reason, when the alarm is set to radio and you don't get to it right away, the volume keeps increasing little by little on its own until it is eventually at full blast! Came home one day to a blaring radio (ridiculous)--does not need to get that loud.
Now for the last straw: of course just one week past the one year warranty, all of a sudden the LCD display quits working all together. SO the docking station still works, the radio still works, but I cannot tell what time it is nor what station I am listening to, and I can no longer use it for an alarm clock...would love to keep it still, but alarm 2 is stuck on permanently and absolutely will not shut off so I can't even keep the thing plugged in all the time. For the price, I rather expected this to last more than one year and one week!
Pros: was nice while it lasted, looked nice
Cons: lcd display quit after one year, alarm music automatically increases too loudly, rather difficult to dock ipad
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love this radio! In fact we got one for our bedroom, but then got another for the kitchen since it sounded so good! We listen to pandora on the ipad using this and it is so great!

4s cases may cause problems

The sound is great, but my iphone 4s does not dock properly in an OtterBox case. The case is a pain to take off and put on, so it is an issue worth considering. This wouldn't be so annoying but for the product being hyped as case-friendly.

Does not fit iPad

My wife purchased this specifically for my iPad (3rd gen) and we were not able to dock the iPad. The dock connector is too rigid and is placed at a poor angle in relation to the back plate.
This will be returned asap.
