The product met or exceeded my expectations

The unit was very easy to put into operation. The sound quality was really much better than I expected. This is a great value when compared to other docking stations that have the capability for battery operation. This feature was important to me as I wanted to be able to play my iPod at lakeside where there were no electrical outlets. Very satisfied. Even used the unit for listening on the road rather than the radio or CD player in the vehicle.
Pros: price was very reasonable, quality was better than expected, carrying case is a very handy feature, battery life was as good as advertised
I would recommend this to a friend!

Each winter my wife and I escape our harsh New England weather for three months onto Santa Maria Island on the West Coast of Florida. We drive down in our '08 Toyota Prius with limited space for extras. It would be nice to be able to transport our Bose iPod docking station, but there is no room in the car. After much research, I came upon the Philips Fidelio Docking speaker DS7550. What a find! The sound is excellent with the Philips and it also is used to charge my iPod in transit and at my final condo location. I highly recommend it. For its size and price, it cannot be beat.

a great Ipod player

i bought a bose player first, and, despite its ecellence, it was actually not easy to use - so could not switch from music to a podcast easily. this one is easy to use, and - since it stores power in an internal batter, i don't need to be hooked up to power to use it. thus, i can carry it to wherever i am (usually doing some chore or other around the house).
I would recommend this to a friend!

One of the best portable speaker systems I've heard.

I just bought the DS7550 today and I'm impressed with how good the sound quality is. The bass and mids are very strong although the highs lack some. Overall it's a pretty well balanced sound, and for a small system I can forgive the somewhat muted highs.
The Fidelio app seems to work well too although I'm just starting to use it.
The carrying case that was included makes it a great choice for a portable system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Philips docking speaker

Love this Speaker,it has great sound,size & can be used for iPad,iPod & iPhone. You can also bring it anywhere, it has it's own carrying case.I would recommend buying this product for personal use or as a gift as I have done.

We have 2 of these docks. Their sound is amazing. Combined with our iPods, they are our clock radios, charging stations, alarm clocks, go to sleep music and around the house music players. They have been highly reliable and are on 24 hours per day. Very good value for money

Great System.When losing seperate charger System is Dead

I lost the charger and could not find a way to purchase a replacement charger from Philips.
When the battery becomes dead the Philips docking speaker is useless to me. The charger should be permanently attached to the speaker.
An other source might have a 9 Volt charger with a plug-in adopter to fit the Philips sound system.
A lot of trouble to go though!

Best Portable Speaker System I Ever Had

Hands down the best add-on speakers I have ever owned. Sound is superb, It is easy to use, and battery life is great! I use it every day, take it inside or outside using the internal batteries.
This unit also works well as a charging dock, either plugged in or on battery power, for my I-Pod/I-Phone
In an era when product quality is questionable a lot of the time, this product is a refreshing breath of superb quality and value.
Pros: sound is great for its size, internal battery feature - can take it anywhere, compact design
Cons: . . . er . . . can't think of any cons!
