I bought this coffee maker a month ago and am very disappointed with it. You cannot turn it off without unplugging the unit - lights always stay on. I cannot tell the flavor difference in the coffee if the setting is on regular or bold. The top to coffee pot is difficult to clip back on. The heating pad does not keep the coffee hot - even on high setting. I didn't think the gauge where it shows how much water there is mattered, but it is on the back of the side and hard to read without turning the entire unit around.Grounds get through the strainer cage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Extreme Brew replaced my ancient coffee maker, which died suddenly. What I really like is that it brews very quickly, and the coffee is nice and hot.
One thing to keep in mind, the 'Bold' setting should be saved for Dinkin Doughnits coffee and the like. With Starbucks Veranda blend, it overwhelmed my taste buds.
But there are a few things that keep the rating at four starts. It is very hard to pour the water in the reservoir without getting some of it in the basket. Also, the machine has to be turned 90 degrees to see the water level. And the heating element shuts off before I am read for a refill.

Having read many reviews pro and con, I am very happy with this purchase. Chose for simple styling, compact design and quick brew (1-4cups). Tried gold-tone filter first, but prefer the handiness of the Melitta for discard. Finish bell somewhat quite, but now that I’m used to, I hear it. Also appreciate updates from previous model: the lid is not attached and snaps on easily, which is better when washing and draining; water fill column conveniently located; no splash back on interior housing or carafe cradle. Have not tried the programmable feature.

I am a long time Cuisinart user. My last coffee maker was 12 yrs ago. I didn't realize how long it took to brew, till we bought this one. I have only used it for a couple of weeks and it works great so far. The one thing I appreciate is the long time for the pot to stay warm. My old one was only one hour. I am happy so far and know if something goes wrong, Cuisinart stands by the product with a 3yr warrenty.

I LOVE this coffee maker! I’m very picky when it comes to coffee. I knew I wanted a Cuisinart coffee maker (always had an excellent cup of coffee with every CUISINART machine I’ve had or had at family/friend’s homes). My problem was deciding which machine to purchase. I finally selected the ‘Extreme Brew’ as I’m always wanting my coffee before it’s finished brewing and this maker allows one to get a cup anytime it’s brewing (without dripping/slopping all over everything), it’s hot, fresh and perfect! Easy to assemble, use, set and program. Not too big, looks great next to my other stainless steel Cuisinart appliances and cleanup is easy too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an affordable fast, easy and eye-appealing appliance!
