Who needs 1080p

This is my first HD TV and I am very happy with it. It is the best value on the market. And with the Samsung name I feel confident in my purchase.
I was apprehensive to go with a 720p TV but since all cable and satellite broadcasts in 720p I am OK with it.
The cost difference versus the quality did not justify going with higher end model.
No ghosting - No Burn-In. Had a week and love it.
I was concerned about all the horror stories with burn in on plasmas but I realized that bars use plasmas and I never see burn in on those.
If you are on a budget don't hesitate to get this TV.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: cheap remote
I would recommend this to a friend!

The picture on this product is sharp and defined. I'm very pleased with this television and wouldn't trade it for any other television. It's priced lower than an lcd or led as it is a plasma tv, but it's the best! The sound system is so good I don't use the sound bar I have hooked up to it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

My first flat screen

This TV is my first flat screen. I must admit, I was quite impressed with the picture and sound quality. I've owned it for almost a year and it's still running smooth and sharp.
For the price, it's a great buy. Only downfall is the heat generated off it. (Although it can be your own personal heater!) And the small increase in power consumption. (if you use it all the time.)
Other than that, it's a great TV.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: power use, heat generated

I have had HDTV's for many years and decided to buy a bigger set, I came across the Samsung 51 inch Plasma and bought it without any hesitation,and ,BOY,O BOY am I glad I did!!!

Great picture but video goes on and off momentarily

Fantastic Picture.
Screen is hot enough to warm up the room.
It is very sensitive to HDMI input signal from the CABLE box / DVR HDMI input. Cable company had to bring out a second HD Cable box to stop the dropping out of video when watching HD tv. The replacement HD box that worked well with this Plasma died from a crashed hard drive and the New in Box replacement is having the same problem as the original so I will be getting a fourth HD cable box to eliminate the video going black for a second. This happens randomly but is very annoying. Maybe once per hour.

Yes, I replaced the HDMI cable. I tried to use Component input to see if the HDMI input was the problem but this Samsung set won't recognize the signal from HD cable box (Cisco brand).

Cons: not enough hdmi inputs, sensitivity to hd cable box variation, customer support was useless, screen is warm - can feel heat walking by it., cannot get component input to function
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

had this t.v for about a month love watching it.I think it is a better value that the 2010 samsung 50in. i have keep up the good work just wish it had a rotating stand to turn.from side to side.

If you want a perfect plasma TV that provides excellent quality of picture and sound, this is the TV for you. The 51 inch size is perfect for my living room and can be seen very well from my kitchen, so that I can watch while I'm cooking!!
Amazing features, realistic picture quality and colors, absolutely rockin' sound for a really amazing price for the quality. Samsung really rocks!!!
