Another Typical GE-era (pre-2015) Appliance

We bought this refrigerator as a replacement for another GE refrigerator that did not work properly from the day it was delivered until we finally grew tired of paying for service calls that did not fix the problems. The performance of this refrigerator has been only marginally better than the previous one, our latest problem being an ice maker that will not shut off, causing the ice tray to overflow cubes down into the bottom area of the refrigerator where they melt causing water damage to our hardwood floors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pretty but defective

There is an intermittent high pitched sound and the freezer compartment gets a sheet of ice in the bottom causing water to eventually spill out onto the floor.

A fan was replaced under warranty due to excessive noise. Soon after the warranty expired, the water/ice dispenser malfunctioned, it wouldn’t stop dispensing once the container is no longer pressing against the plate. After 4 years the water line started to leak. In the 5th year the refrigerator section is not cooling. The freezer is still working. A total disappointment.

compressor died after 6 years!

Product looks good but the quality has a lot to be desired.
Within the 6 years, had to replace an evaporative fan motor, the evaporation drain got clogged due to poor design and flooded the floor, and now the compressor died. Since it is a sealed system, it is too expensive to repair.

Our first unit's cooling system broke within 3 weeks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our first unit's cooling system broken within 3 weeks. We had someone come to repair it 3 times and are now replacing it with a new unit from the vendor. The look is fantastic but the LCD display is different than what we expected. It was not clear from the description that the counter-depth version had limited LCD features and no USB plug port while only the full-sized version had these features. We are hoping for a properly working unit once this one is replaced.

Wonderful Fridge!!!

We did extensive research before we bought our fridge, and this GE model has all the features that we were interested in having.  It looks great in our kitchen!  The counter depth option makes it look very custom.  As a mom, I absolutely adore being able to upload photos to the fridge!  I love being able to see my kids pictures when I get a glass of water.  The fridge holds a TON of food despite it being counter depth.  GE was very clever with the storage on door, and I find it very useful space.  I also love that the water filter is in the door and doesn't take up valuable fridge space.  The freezer space is also very easy to organize with the 3 different drawers.  The only negative thing that I could say is it is quite a bit louder than our old fridge; however, we have gotten used to it, and don't notice the noise anymore.  Would definitely recommend this fridge!  
I would recommend this to a friend!

we purchased this product recently and we are already impressed with the technology and features this fridge has to offer...it is beautiful! We love that you can download 90 photos and they will slideshow on the screen- who needs photos on a refrigerator when you can have this awesome feature!
