All the knobs are breakings

I am okay with the overall functionality of the stove top. HOWEVER, we have only had it since May of 2014, and already (October 2015) 3/5 of the knobs have broken. The PLASTIC...(plastic is cheap) split on the cylindrical part that holds onto the metal control switch. I would really like some better quality knobs, and feel that the broken ones should be replaced waaaay cheaper than $15 something each, especially if my only replacement option are the inadequate plastic knobs. Also there is no consistency on which way to turn the burners for high or low...so you have to check each time. It would be nice if HIGH was always to the top or left, and LOW was always to the bottom or right. this isn't the case.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

"Easy wipe" but impossible to clean

I have to use a razor blade to clean the surface, always concerned about scratching. Sure it's easy-wipe. But wiping isn't cleaning. I bought the Whirlpool cleaning kit, but it's worthless. The cleaning compound is difficult to remove, leaving streaks. The compound itself works only with the razor blade. Still I have some spots that will be there forever.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the simmer setting and the variety of other burners.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this cook-top for a few weeks and like how quickly it heats my food. My only complaint is that the settings are so hard to see and that some burners are turned to the left to become hot while others are turned right to become hot.

Nice cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted to replace my cooktop since I bought my house. Original was a circa 1984 tappan with standard burners, that finally died. This is obviously a night, and day difference which is expected.
Once used to heat settings, this cooktop does what it needs to do. Fast heat with alot of temperature control. Plenty of room for stock pots, or large pans. It makes cooking more enjoyable.
Only downside is keeping clean, and I only mean that by it looks better when spotless. Hard to clean between knobs (unless removed).
Install instructions were to the point since I did it my self.

this cooktop does everything we had hoped it would. we especially like the simmer option for simmering between lo and hi, and using the optional larger size burner ring. It is sleek and stylish too.

We bought this to go in our island bar and wanted a good quality cook top that would not take away from our awesome island and it blends well and is so sleek, you barley recognize its a cooktop, unless you are cooking
