beware of cleaning issues

This cooktop was the biggest mistake i made with my new home. It is IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. I scrub the bottom of every pan i before I place on the cooktop but still have to spend an exuberant amount of time with a magic eraser and tons of elbow grease to scrub this cooktop after every use. It should be advertised as "self-STICKING' and is no fun to clean after every use. I'm not talking about a wipe down and gently scrubbing, i'm talking about my 6'4" strong husband scrubbing for a very long time. Don't buy this unless you plan to have it for looks only and don't plan to use it.

Installed only 3 months and already broke!

We bought this through lowes when we remodeled our kitchen. This cooktop was such a huge improvement from my other one which was 33 years old and I was sooo excited to get a new one. I've treated this cooktop with the upmost care since it was installed and I've kept it look sparkling new. My husband went to turn it on and one of the knobs came off in his hand! After the other one lasted 33 years and I never had anything break and now this! I'm sick over my new cooktop not lasting 4 months!!! The worst purchase out of the entire new kitchen! I also purchased a whirlpool dishwasher that leaves the worst water spots!

This is my 3rd cooktop. Replaced a GE cooktop (builder installed) and an LG cooktop (also cracked) by improper use of hot cookware. An affordable solution to more "expensive" tops.

Worst Cooktop Ever

I have had this cooktop 11 1/2 months so I think I can write this review now with considerable experience. I would never buy it again or probably any glass top ever. I live in a community that was designed as all-electric 48 years so putting in gas was basically out-of-the-question due to the location of the kitchen and the cooktop. This cooktop scratches so easily and is a nightmare to keep clean. Being located against a backsplash makes iti very difficult to use because of the burner placements and sizes. I have even bought new pots and pans to heIp with scratching to no avail!!! I have been cooking since I was 14 years old on both gas and electric depending on where we lived and I can say unequivocally this is the worst cooktop I have ever had. I am an accomplished cook and very careful and purposeful and until last September, enjoyed cooking, but the joy is gone. What a bad choice this has been. AND the continuous running of the fan in the oven in the Gold Series when baking is a major annoyance!!! I researched our appliance choices but living in a small community narrowed availability. I think I should have done a better job of researching. I am, sadly, stuck!

Sara :Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of the concern with your cooktop. We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the design of your cooktop. To help avoid scratches, do not slide cookware or bake ware across the cooktop as this will scratch the surface. Aluminum or copper bottoms and rough finishes on cookware or bakeware could leave scratches or marks on the cooktop as well.

Unable to remove stain. See picture.

I have a white model that replaced a 12 year old white cooktop of different brand so I am very experienced with cleaning & keeping it completely stain free.Unfortunately I have run out of ideas to clean the large gray stain on one of the burners. I have cooked the same foods in the same pans as on the old unit. I have never had any stains that could not be removedTo the manufacturer: I need ideas please.Otherwise it works as expected.

Works ok, but very difficult to keep the cooktop clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two things that we don't like about this cooktop: the control knobs are cheap & have poor quality feel and the cooktop glass seems to be impossible to keep clean.

Nice cook top with good spacing on burners for a 30"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a replacement about 2 months ago. The old unit was out of control boiling water on low and inconsistent with temperature regulation in general. This one is very good with temperature control and the spacing of the burners is much better. The only downside is it seems harder to clean and prevent scratches
