Not worth it.

Easy to install and connect, but frequently loses connection. Updated firmware on the device and drivers on the computer but still drops connection. HDMI cable is cheaper and more reliable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New HP Envy17 3D laptop was ordered with the Netgear Push2TV PTC2000HD. I followed Netgear directions step by step which includes updating Intel drivers. I connected the Netgear to our Mitsubishi HD 3D TV via the included HDMI cable; everything worked perfectly from the start. Could not have asked for a better performance. HD video along with full theatre surround. If you want to cut the cable, this is an excellent alternative.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This netgear product can work with an HP dm4-1080us laptop like mine. And yes, the 1080us has a 2nd gen Intel I5 processor. But don't expect your Netgear device to connect to this laptop without inputing several minutes of your trouble shooting/updating time. Should your laptop ever connect to the netgear adapter, like mine eventually did, you'll be impressed with what it can do without wires.
