I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER BY A BLU-RAY PLAYER SO SINCE I LOVE SAMSUNG PRODUCTS I BROUGHT THERE BLU-RAY PLAYER AND NOW I WATCH ABOUT 5 MOVIES A DAY INSTEAD OF JUST TV I LOVE IT I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH IT
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, its not blurry, it plays all types of movies
I would recommend this to a friend!

Still up in the air

ive only owned it 2 weeks and im already sending it in for repair . it worked AMAZING for the two weeks then it started to freeze up during playback of blu ray movies and now it wont even play them at all . so as of now im not too happy with it . i will re review it after i get it back frmo repair or get a replacement unit.

Good With Discs, Terrible WIth Netflix and Hulu

Discs look great. Both Netflix and Hulu have what appear to be buffering issues, though the 6700 is hardwired onto the network and the speed through that very same cable (checked repeatedly with a laptop) is 18-20 Mbps--plenty fast. Netflix has a momentarily blacked out screen (1/4 second or so) every 15 seconds or so. Hulu freezes, over and over.
Since the cable, switch, router, modem, and isp are check out fine, and there are problems with two different apps on the player, one can only conclude the 6700 is the problem. Keep shopping!

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!! NEAT, TRIM, AND SLEEK!!!!
SETUP TOOK ABOUT FOUR MINUTES OUT OF THE BOX AND I CONNECTED WITH MY WIFI ROUTER IN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. FLAWLESS. THE VERY BEST BLU-Ray I HAVE HAD. THIS IS MY THIRD AND BY FAR THE VERY BEST. BUY THIS BLU-RAY!!!!

No REAL component video

I own a lot of Samsung equipment - three TVs, DVD player, Refrigerator, and this new Blue ray player. Have been a big fan until recently (TV-pwr supply board quit) and now issue with this new unit.
I have older Audio/Video receiver that does not support HDMI (but still works GREAT) - I need component video on this new Blue ray unit.
While the D6700 has the component output that I need - it is ONLY 480 resolution (page 70 of the user manual). Big disappointment that would have DEFINITELY made me bypass. This was not clear at the point of purchase - and SHOULD BE!
Pros: good for hdmi

good for playing blu rays once they start playing. have player connected to samsung 8000 55' tv. at first there is no sound and the screen keeps going black until the connection is finally made. might be the tv though not sure. tv works good when not watching blu rays. have the same problem when streaming content. nice design, no tray that comes out. has 2 hdmi outputs a must for 3d tv if you dont want to upgrade to 3d passthrough reciever.

Poor Product Performance

The BD-6700 appeared to have some nice features, but all I have found is it constantly freezes and I have to shut the power down and reboot. Netflix streaming constantly blacks out. Wireless connection has been inconsistent and the distant is only 4 feet so I had to hard wire it. I really enjoyed our 5500, but I really hate this 6700!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor performance

Great when it can play Blu Ray movies

This is a great unit when it works. Great picture, very easy to use. However, it doesn't play a lot of current movies recently released on Blu Ray. Three of the last four movies that I have rented won't play. It appears to be firmware related and it needing more frequent updates. If this was addressed I'd recommend this player. But until it is resolved I can not.
