The player that convinced me to go Blu-Ray

I wasn't sure we needed to go Blu-Ray. But once I saw the picture quality and other reviews, I was convinced that this was the one for us: built-in wi-fi, apps, relatively low profile, and competitive pricing. My wife is blind in one eye, so 3D isn't really an option we can both enjoy. But I like having the option in this player, should there be occasion to connect to a 3D TV. The only thing that took some getting used to is the noise this player makes when it's loading a disc. It makes a sort of "woof" sound that startles our dog sometimes. Not a huge deal, but a bit noisy compared to the other devices in our entertainment center. Still, I have recommended this to friends as a great BD player and they seem to agree.

The second hdmi out didn't work it just flashed on screen. The wifi card was faulty. It stopped half way through one movie got a disc read error and never read a disc again.
I also have a bd-c6500 that's glitchy. I wont buy samsung bd again

Very nice unit have had no real issues with the player.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

very buggy firmware and apps

The blu-ray player itself works great.... But I have had nothing but problems with the streaming media, netflix, vudu, cinema-now continuously freezing at random times, and the only solution is to cycle the power off and on. Doing a master-reset usually helped for a short period of time, but eventually it starts acting up again. Then after the latest firmware update netflix refuses to work at all just get a blank screen, this has been reported on the web of happening to many others after the new update, yet samsung says the problem is on netflix end, lol. So now I'm at the mercy of the next firmware update to get netflix back, since reverting to the previous firmware is not an option. For the amount of money I spent on this product I expected more. I have a cheepo neoTV unit that works flawlessly, in hopes of cosolidating equipment with the bd-d6700 I have had nothing but regrets, and every time a new firmware is released I hope this will be the time they get it right, and every time I'm highly dissapointed. This comes back to poor quality assurance on their end, do they even test their products?? I hope that this review will motivate samsung to get it together, because if they did get these glitches worked out my review would be 5 star as I like the product itself I just wish it worked right a mere 90% of the time. Overall it's just poor fit and finish on a product that has the potential to be great, like you would expect from a name brand product.

Weak wireless connectivity

I'm writing this review on my laptop that's connected to the internet wirelessly. Meanwhile my Samsung says "Network interference occured. Try again later." In a few hours I might be able to connect. I can get it to work if I wire it, but then I have to string a 15 foot cable across the room. Tech support responds with the obvious troubleshoot tips. I bought the unit for its wireless and streaming capability. I had higher expectations from Samsung.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

thsi dvd player has outperformed all others I have and I have 5 of em. It is greta updates and also has great video and dvd format. It clearly works well with my other samsung devices and is easy to setup by it self. all smart features works well..
