Comfortably Taxed

This is our third year using Turbotax and we are very satisfied in the product. It is very user friendly and guides you step by step to maximize your tax refund.
What's great about it: User friendly
What's not so great: Donation selections could be expanded
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

NYS Software has problems

When you enter data for current year 529, it makes calculations but does not show the result. Next screen shows results from previous year but does not include current year which help you see the result of the calculations. If you leave the total contributions for all years field blank, it calculates your current year withdrawal as the entire contributions amount [almost], which then shows up as taxable income. I didn't find the problem until the following year [2013] when it showed the withdrawal for last year. The Amend software for NY is very poor requiring you to do a number of manual steps.

The best Tax Prep Software, hands down

Quite honestly this is the only tax prep software I ever use. Nothing beats Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Ease of use. Language in layman's terms.

We love Turbo Tax!

We've been using Turbo Tax for five years or so and it's been very nice.
What's great about it: It's pretty quick and easy with great redundancies.
What's not so great: It's so easy I wonder if anything's been overlooked.

What's not so great: a little trouble transmitting due to needing an update.
