Quick & Easy

Pleased to have been using the product since 2009, and see the improvements made to compensate for US Tax law upgrades easily dealt with.
What's great about it: pointed to most of the data locations I had to draw my facts from.
What's not so great: Could use more examples to explain which situations fit my return circumstances

Makes complicated returns easy

Turbotax 1040 makes dealing with the myriad of incomprehensible IRS forms much less stressful. Great import features for stock trading activity. Very complete.
What's great about it: Complete, easy step-by step flow; great imports
What's not so great: Could use better explanations of 1099-Q (e.g. how the 529 income and expense work together)

Turbotax to the Rescue

I used TurboTax again this year and once again it was a painless process. I work full time and run a consulting business on the side. My wife also runs a business out of the home. TurboTax helps us prepare for the next year by filling the blanks on a monthly basis using a standard spread sheet so it makes the year end easy transferring from the spreadsheet to the filing process.
I have been using the software for approximately 10 years and love it.

What's great about it: Step by step help with easy to follow guidelines.

SOME OF THE TAX ITEMS WERE A LITTLE CONFUSING, BUT THAT WAS DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT, NOT THE SOFTWARE.
What's great about it: ALLOWED ME TO GET THE MOST OUT OF MY RETURN

I do not feel this years program had the flexibility to print what I wanted, when I wanted. Had major problem with the actual print procedure. Not like Turbo Tax at all. Every year past, I would have rated a "5 Star", but not this year. I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years. I have never had issues.
What's great about it: walks me through everything and provides tax law info to help me sort out what is applicable and what is not.
What's not so great: this is the first time I have ever had an issue with the print section.

too easy

I love how easy it is to import information from my donations, and w-2 creating less information I have to enter. I like how it explains things so it is easy to understand not a bunch of legal language. I also like how I can flag something and come back to it, if I wasn't ready for that section.
What's great about it: very easy step by step. easy to understand as well. importing information easy

Turbotax 2013

I was unable to load this program onto my desktop using Windows XP. This was disappointing since all my previous returns were done on this computer. I was able to load the program onto my laptop with no problem. I find that using the E-file function reduces the time it takes to get my refunds and will use this again next year.
What's great about it: This program makes all the calculations, checks for accuracy and explains anything should I have any quetions.
What's not so great: Could not load on my desktop using Windows XP, Kept getting error message saying I had two install program running.
