I am very familiar with TurobTax so I have been doing returns for family. I don't mind purchasing new software for every 5 returns, however, Uninstalling and installing the new software has been a real hassle. I had to completely reenter all of the information for 2 returns which was very time consuming and one I still can't E-file.
What's great about it: easy to use

Turbo Tax is a Great Product

I have always had great results using Turbo Tax and it is an easy product to use.
One item they changed for 2013 that I'm disappointed with is the handling of 1099 Misc. In past years this has not been a problem but for 2013 Turbo Tax keeps trying to treat my 1099 Misc as self employment income. I had to go in and manually alter several forms to get the proper treatment of the amounts reported on my 1099 Misc
What's great about it: Easy to use and accurate
What's not so great: 1099 Misc not handled properly

Great tool. Easy to use. Guides you through the process. But you still have the obligation to know the things that might impact your tax liabilities and what documents you need to consider in the preparation of your taxes. Turbo Tax only works with what information you provide it. And you must know the correct answers to the questions it asks you.

2013 Taxes

Turbo Tax has been my go to tax software for years, but this year when I tried to file electronically, I had serious problems.
Turbo tax reviewed my taxes, Processed them, but then got hung up when it tried to send them electronically. The system told me that there was trouble and I may have to file manually. I must have tried four times to file again through Turbo Tax and still had the error. I had to force quit Turbo Tax to get out of the software. I then rebooted my MAC computer and tried again. This time all my 2013 tax forms were gone. I tried everything again by force quit, reboot and loading Turbo Tax and the files were still gone. I gave up for the day and shut everything down. I came back the next day and everything was there and was able to file electronically.

Except for above complaint turbo Tax is excellent.

Easy,easy,& easy!

I have been using Turbo tax for about 10 years....I love the easy to follow instructions. The transferring of the previous year is helpful so to ensure that all the needed information is entered.
What's great about it: Great explanations of each item
What's not so great: The extra charge to e file the state return
