Caught my capital gains

Turbo tax is easy to use. I really like the ability to download information directly from financial institutions so there is no problem with incorrectly entering info on the the forms. This was the first time I ever needed to deal with capital gains on my return. I printed out the federal forms before purchasing Turbo Tax and tried to enter the info. I was lost but with Turbo Tax and the direct download all my information was pre-filled and no mistakes. I've used this program since I purchased my house and I really like the transfer of information between years. It helps keep track of institutions to whom I have donated and gives me a good comparison of the sate of my income and deductions from year to year. If you haven't tried it, you should. The added e-file component is a real bonus.

The file was much more difficult to use this year. Help guides did not give very good responses. I changes to a new computer this year and it was very difficult to transfer from last year.
What's great about it: Able to efile
What's not so great: Not as friendly as in past - poor explainations

I am glad I went to turbo tax, it made my taxes easy and I was able to see just where I stood at all times.
What's great about it: made sure I got the right deductions when it mattered the most
What's not so great: a lot of steps for when there were no deductions

Fast and Easy

I love the easy of following the questions and getting my taxes completed. Love the Refund totals at the top as you are doing your taxes.
What's great about it: The easy guided format of doing taxes.
What's not so great: Having to do taxes.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Love this program. It's easy to follow. Walks you through step by step.
I have used other programs and they were not this user friendly.
I used a professional, for 3 years and she messed my taxes up so badly I was audited. She made several costly mistakes:(

Review of 2013 Tax

It was a good change from last year's program, but it was hard to read the text, and there is too much blank space. Also, I had to go look for the program update. I did my taxes piecemeal during the month. I expected an automatic update like in previous years. The PIN number should be printed somewhere so we don't have to extract it every time, or is it new each year.
What's great about it: Simple and easy to use. Fast and accurate.
What's not so great: Text in some areas is TOO small, and too much body space between text and Continue. There was NO automatic software upd
