it helps people who isn't use to doing taxes but it would be nice if the set up was simpler and the wording was easier to understand.
What's great about it: goes through each catagorie
What's not so great: not simple enough
Pros: I bought or sold investments

can't understand why you choose print by mail but it keeps going to e-pin information. why?
What's not so great: why is the print by mail option then requests epin information?

THis was fine until I had to file my return and it kept telling me over and over that my E file was not accepted because an update was needed even though no update was there. Had to restart during mid return to get this stupid thing to act properly. If you have a mac make sure you restart and open from applications without the cd in if you get a similar message.
What's great about it: you get to file on line
What's not so great: Turbotax on mac sucks

Options for Older Folk
on February 15, 2014

As we get older, our financial situations with investments, SSA, etc. present possible nuances for determining and minimizing tax liability. For example, an opportunity to check possible advantages in different Filing Statuses (e.g., Joint Return vs. Married - Filing separately) could be beneficial. I realize that this can be done on-line using TurboTax routines, but it would be convenient to have this capability as you are completing the 1040.
What's great about it: I have been using the Deluxe version for several years and I appreciate the simplicity and ease of use.
What's not so great: A "sanity check" option for determining the results of various Filing Status options
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used this product for the past 5 years and it is sooooo easy to use and understand. Beats standing in line at a tax preparation business and not get as much back!
What's great about it: Easy to use and file your return
What's not so great: none
