Well Done

This years program was easy to use and covered pertenant topics. The one thing that some times makes me think is what is the next step. sometimes you feel like you should have entered information in already and yet it will be asked for later. The other thing is, that the location of the button to add more information changes. Example, enter your W-2. You enter your 1st one and then your DONE with that one but you have another to enter. The ADD W-2 is small print at the bottom of the perigraph. This type of thing catches me and then I have to go back to reenter the extra W-2, 1099, 1098 etc.
What's great about it: Easy to use, covers pertenant info
What's not so great: Not always sure what is next. When do I put bank info in. etc

Education credits

you say to put the information from the 1098-T as it is reported, but IF the school reports the tuition in box 2 and nothing in box 1, the program does not calculate the education tax credit, so you have to go back in and report the tuition paid. this is not very clear from the program

Disc Version is BETTER!

I started my taxes with the online version this year and it was very inaccurate and difficult to navigate. Every time I logged in there was missing information and wrong numbers. The disc version is so much better.
What's great about it: Very Accurate

Same Great Product!

I have been using TurboTax for many years and this is the first time I was confused by what to do with some info - specifically info that is shown on a 1099-B form. I sold some mutual fund shares and had both a short term gain and a long term loss. The 1099-B showed both short term "Box A" info and "Box E checked" info, but the Turbo Tax section for 1099-B only addressed Box A, B, and C - no Box E. I had to go to the support section to see how others addressed this. That usually doesn't happen. Overall, I still hold TurboTax with the highest regards - but this needs an update.
What's great about it: Well organized and easy to use.
What's not so great: The 1099-B input is confusing.

At one point, the software asked me to refer to Line 36 on my Federal return. It would have been helpful to have a reference that would show me exactly what Line 36 was for and what (if any) amount was associated with Line 36.
I dug out an older print copy to of last year's return to decide what Line 36 referred to.

Why use anything else

No matter what my scrolling issue is, I find everything about TurboTax to be a joy....if you can call doing taxes a joy.
I have used Turbo Tax for over a decade and every year it has been consistently easy for me to use. Everything is right there, they walk you through everything...you don't know what you need to do, don't worry, they do!
I cannot imagine ever using another product nor could I ever think I need to walk into someone else's tax preparation office to do this when Turbo Tax can do it all.
I recommend Turbo Tax to everyone....if you're listening.
What's great about it: So easy to use, you don't need to be a rocket scientist
What's not so great: Scrolling inside the screen is sometimes annoying
