I like the step by step instructions. They are clear and easy to follow.
What's great about it: transferred most of demographic information from last year's return
What's not so great: Didn't transfer my deductions from Quicken

Good Experience

I have been using TurboTax for years and think this years product is the best so far. It guides you through the tax preparation smoothly and seamlessly finding all the deductions possible.
The only con I had was trying to e-file. It took several attempts with the same error happening. "Software updates need to be installed prior to e-filing". No updates were available. It took a restart of my Mac and then e-filing was completed.
I will defiantly be using TurboTax next year once again!
What's great about it: Very detailed and methodical approach
What's not so great: e-filing

Great Way to Do Your Taxes

I have used TurboTax for years and have always had the confidence that I have gotten all the deductions I possibly can. The process is virtually painless as long as you have all your paperwork at hand. Answer the questions and everything is put into the right lines and your return is done! I like that the software prompts you to make sure you haven't forgotten something that needs listing. I have not been disappointed with TurboTax and will continue to use it every year!
What's great about it: Answer the questions and everything is done for you.

Good Software with a Major Annoyance

I have the software installed under the administration account but run under my personal account. However, to complete the filing you have to update the software using the admin account (understandable and a good thing) but clicking on the "Admin Install" button does NOT prompt for the admin credentials, the process just fails. Swapping to the admin account to update does not update all the necessary paperwork for that particular filing. The only way I could proceed was to find the location of the executable, right-click and run the entire process as administrator. This is an UNNECESSARILY convoluted process.
What's great about it: Simple to use and GREAT explanations of the process
What's not so great: Update process is annoying

Great job with 2013 Federal and State Taxes

I've used TurboTax for the last several years and have been very happy with its clear user interface and the step by step walkthrough of all aspects of income and deductions. Having read through countless federal tax publications in the past (before I started using TurboTax) I don't imagine there is much else that a paid tax preparer could weedle out of my tax situation.
The only flaw that I have consistently found is the lack of support for federal Publication 936 - Home Mortgage Interest Deduction. For anyone who has refinanced their mortgage at any time, especially if you've used that money for something other than improving your home, this is a critical document. TurboTax forces you to tackle this on your own to calculate the deductible mortgage interest that needs to be entered on your Schedule A. Given the complexity of other aspects of tax law that TurboTax successfully addresses, I can't understand why this one item has been left out.
What's great about it: TurboTax is easy to use and walks you through everything
What's not so great: No support for Publication 936
