Easy to Use.

Easy to navigate and use. Only half fixed previous problem of not being about to use other than "C" drive to save and reuse a tax file.
TT does not look for a Tax file when it is first used on other than the "C" Drive. It should search the removable drives on the PC. For "Security" purposes that is usually stored on a removable media as a CD, DVD, or other device as it is only done once a year (archived) and deleted off the hard drive..
I use a removable CDRW to store my Tax file on while I am working on TT so no personnel data resides on my PC. I clean all my temp files when I log off my PC.
TT does recognize the removable TT file if you open TT from Windows Explorer by double clicking on the TT file name. Then it will read and write to it without a problem. This is the work around.
What's great about it: Very easy to navigate and use.
What's not so great: Turbo Tax only looks at the beginning at the "C" Drive for a previous Tax File.

Worthwhile but overkill for simple return

It still works but the thrill is gone. There are adequate free or lower cost online or other programs that should be adequate for returns that don't involve investment transactions such as stock sales, capital gains, etc.
What's great about it: Very thorough
What's not so great: won't import from Quicken 2011, doesn't carry over NC Bailey/Falkenberry settlement info,

I would like to see a list of new items that are needed BEFORE starting a return.....
What's great about it: Last years info is imported at the start of the return

What's great about it: Walk thru was extremely helpful
What's not so great: If you go back to check or correct can't go back to spot you left off without going thru all the screens again

Everything was fine. I can excuse your seeking extra for more complex returns, you got to make a living, like TV ads. The only disappointment was we took an IRA withdrawal for 8,000 and returned it within 60 days. You rightfully picked up our reporting it as a wash(rollover), gave me an explanation area to complete, and gave me the good news that I did not need to report it. Yet, I could find no clear way to report it, and you kept on picking it up as an error. I would think the IRS form should provide an easy way to post it and/or you could provide succinct guidance. The 60 day rule is ancient and I know from exp. it is often utilized.
What's great about it: 1st time user, easy to follow.
What's not so great: Just not totally savvy at outset what to expect. See below

Needs to expand its capabilities

I noticed some major differences between this year and last year's line items. I wanted to view the items side-by-side, but that is impossible with this software, even though I have the TT tax file from last year,
When I tried to revisit a step-by-step page to view my earlier responses, I had to start again at the very beginning of the section. Then, had to enter details all over again to get to where I wanted to be.
I've used TT for many years, but I'm becoming more and more dissatisfied with it.
What's great about it: Seems to ask all the right questions though I would have to trust them on this.
What's not so great: Revisiting a specific step-by-step instruction
