I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now. I like it but do not fully understand everything and when it comes to some things I still don't get a real understanding of just exactly what I should or should not put. What happened to the screen shots where someone actually explained it?
What's great about it: Quick
What's not so great: Some wording not easy to understand

A great refund year

Great software makes a difficult process super easy, as long as you have all of the information prepared. I plan to use for many years to come, or until expenses and income get really difficult!
What's great about it: Everything was well-organized
What's not so great: One of the blanks was not working!
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not as confident with the results as previous yrs.

I've used TurboTax for years. I would have thought by now that by using TT year to year, more items would automatically be imported.
I seem to recall previous years where the application felt like it was doing more guidance by asking and confirming questions if I had certain forms. I felt like I was clicking on more things this year and guessing if things applied.
I was disappointed having to dig through last years files to get things like AGI, and some other details. I thought that's what the idea of using TT year to year was. I guess I may have to consider that next year.
Overall I was less than confident with the end result. However, I'm pretty sure I've covered everything. Perhaps I'll run through it agin to be sure.

I did our taxes in a couple of hours. We appreciated the guided step-by-step process.
Thank you for having sat in my chair to see what we needed.
What's great about it: Easy, fast, complete
What's not so great: None

NO School TAXES!

Why oh why can't there be a 'school taxes paid ?' box in with the real estate taxes? Pretty simple to ask if school taxes are based upon home value, and add them to the total real estate taxes paid. I understand that different rules apply to all the different municipalities and such... but c'mon, that's what I'm paying for... correct? Searching "SCHOOL TAXES" yeilds a 'no results found'... really? There seems to be enough questions on the topic, that some sort of guide needs to be included. PLEASE... add some school tax info for those of us who pay it distinct from real estate taxes. You're software has yeilded better results than my previous preparers (pro's and services) and the lack of any help with school taxes is my only complaint. Otherwise, WELL DONE!

Taxes Straightforward

Turbotax makes it simple to do your taxes yourself. Imports information from previous years which reduces the tediousness. Takes you step by step, and has plenty of help just a click away to explain things. I've used it the last 4 years, and will for many more!
What's great about it: Interface, Ease of Mobility
What's not so great: No Auto Update of Tax Forms

You get to review your records at your pace and determine what is or is not a deduction based on TurboTax instructions and help.
What's great about it: TurboTax allows you to review and understand what is deductible and what is not.
