I've used TurboTax for many, many, years and I've never been disappointed. Taxes are confusing and wading through the expanse of Federal and State paperwork would give anyone a massive migraine. TurboTax simplifies taxes to a point where its almost a painless process..........almost. Taxes are never pleasant and paying taxes is downright painful. TurboTax does everything but pay the bill. I am an extremely satisfied customer and don't see ever doing my taxes without the aid of TurboTax!
What's great about it: Easy to use. Step by step instructions virtually anyone can comprehend.
What's not so great: Doesn't enter my data via mental telepathy.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax for 2013

Can't my records from the previous years be accounted for in some manner. I am retired and things don't change that much each year.
What's great about it: Guided filing is simple and straight forward
What's not so great: Year after year I have to go thru so much that doesn't apply when my status hasn't changed.

Tried to hit no on using the free file, would not let me so I hit yes on using the free file and it still charged me for the file and the same thing happened last year and I told you and still no reply from you or anyone else another way of taking money knowing no one will say anything or do anything.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Makes you use the one free file when you dont want to

Adequate Tax Software

This program isn't designed to help a married couple with children determine whether/how to file jointly or separately. My wife and I have 4 children and a software program that would allow us to quickly review how to distribute the children between us if we filed separately would be helpful. My 1040 is not that complicated so I don't need to use a software program. I only tried this one out to see if it would help me determine my optimal filing method. It was only adequate.
What's not so great: No very useful for determining filing options
