Love Turbotax

I have used Turbotax for years and love its simplicity and thoroughness.
What's great about it: Ease of Use, Assistance available when needed, understandable explanations.
What's not so great: My disc wouldn't download (1st time in 7 years) but a service rep sent a download to my computer.

GRANTING GREAT POWER

I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND TURBO TAX TO BE EASY TO USE. THIS YEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME I SOMEHOW HAD A BUSINESS SHOW UP ON MY TAXES. NOT OWNING A BUSINESS I TRIED TO GO BACK THROUGH MY TAXES IN ORDER TO REMOVE IT AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM SINCE IT KEPT TELLING ME I HAD A MISTAKE. THIS WAS NO EASY CHORE. IT SEEMED LIKE NO MATTER WHAT I DID I COULDN'T FIX IT. I FINALLY JUST REDID MY WHOLE TAX FORM, WHICH MEANT REENTERING ALL THE INFO AGAIN, AND THAT FINALLY SOLVED THE SITUATION. HAD THERE HAVE BEEN MORE HEADING IT MIGHT HAVE MADE IT EASIER TO FIND WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS TO CORRECT IT OR MAYBE A DELETE BUTTON FOR MISTAKES LIKE THAT.
ON THE WHOLE THOUGH EVEN WITH THIS BEING THE FIRST TIME HAVING A PROBLEM LIKE THIS I STILL LOVE MY TURBO TAX AND EXCEPT FOR LAST YEAR (THANKS TO HURRICANE SANDY) I HAVE ALWAYS USED TURBO TAX TO DO TAXES FOR SEVERAL PEOPLE AND ALWAYS WILL. IT'S THE BEST THERE IS!

Program Good, but deficient for excess 401(K)

I have used TurboTax for a number of years and will likely continue. For 2013, I made an excess contribution to my employer-sponsored 401(K). Handling that excess was not clear cut and confusing as to how it was being handled by the program and forms being generated. The help board gave some direction, but was incomplete. My suggestion is for TurboTax to ask separately about 401(K) contributions as they have different annual caps than an IRA. Then either go through the process of creating a 1099 R (Form 4852) for the tax-year excess contribution returned in the current year or bolster the deductions and credits section to address 401(K) type excess contributions if that is where the excess is to be handled.
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand what is happening
What's not so great: Handling excess contributions to a 401(k) very deficient

Making Tax Returns Easy

Turbo Tax makes doing your return so easy. Just walks you through the whole thing. Love it!! And then e file gets your refund to you so quick.
What's great about it: Easy, easy, easy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great for dummies

I got a Federal refund - great! But I wanted to print Estimated Tax vouchers for next year anyway. I went to "forms" and found only forms in use for this year's return. It's like the software decided I didn't need to make Estimated Tax payments and wasn't going to give me access. Eventually, I discovered the key click and printed out the vouchers without a hitch.
I think the TurboTax from back in the day was much more friendly to mavericks like me.
