Walks you through the process

Turbo Tax is an awesome product for preparing taxes. I use it for my husband and I as well as 2 of our kids. It is so easy and self explanatory. I will never pay someone to do what I can easily do by myself.
What's great about it: ease of use, low cost, don't need to make an appt to get taxes done
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Retired seniors listen up!!!

35 Years ago I was a auditor for the IRS. Now my wife and I are retired on Social Security and Pensions. So preparing our taxes is a whole new ball game. We purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe this year and received a much larger refund than previous years. A must for seniors with life changing events.
We will definitely use Turbo Tax for our future years filing!!!

Confusing with no help to be found

I've used Turbo Tax for the past five years, but now I am considering going elsewhere next year. I moved between two states in the past year and my WI state return was rejected because a form called the apportionment schedule was filled out incorrectly. Turbo Tax did not help me fill out this form at all!!! It popped the form up as if I needed it, however I could see no categories on the form that applied to me, so I put a zero in the box Turbo Tax had highlighted. Well it got rejected by the state. When I went back into Turbo Tax to fix it, it notified me that there was an error with this form, however it would have just let me file it again, without correction. I had to manually go back to my state return and start over, and I still didn't understand why I needed to fill out this apportionment schedule and I could find no help from Turbo Tax's online help site. As my tax returns become more complicated year after year, maybe Turbo Tax is not the best choice for me anymore. It's supposed to walk you through everything that needs to be filled out to file an appropriate tax return, and it just left me confused and angry. (And I have some working knowledge of the tax code and am very astute with financial transactions)
What's great about it: Mostly easy to enter info
What's not so great: When a problem arose, no help was available

Used turbo tax for the first time on my own taxes. Loved it and wont go back to paying over priced tax services again.

Another Great Prep Year

Each year I use Turbo Tax the product gets better and easier to use. The comfort level I've built up with your product helps this task get completed easily and with little or no stress. My returns are consistent year to year. I just enjoy using your product.
What's great about it: Easy to follow dialogue and prompts

Always feel secure with TurboTax

I don't think our taxes are exceptionally difficult but we do have numerous deductions and now that one of us is retired there are changes we need to navigate in our filing. TurboTax helps me know what kinds of forms I will need and guides me easily through the maze.
What's great about it: I don't know if I would understand the forms without the guidance offered in Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: Nothing to dislike

pension section

my mother is 95, my dad retired at 48 after 20 years on the Fire Department and his pension is public safety. I don't view his pension as an annuity and think what you are asking for and your explanations this year are difficult to fill in.
He was 48, mother was 50 and he died in Feb of 1996
There is no amount in box 2a and we know his pension is 100% taxable, then the questions on annuity start
these questions weren't asked in any of the past years, why now and why not make it simple on what information you need, as we didn't have annity questions in the past

To my way of thinking, you may be technically correct, but lost the user friendliness of your product which I have used for more years than I can remember.
What's great about it: not sure I liked this section or any part of it
What's not so great: think your explanations are difficult to understand
